Any P5 is an excellent engine for the price.

Clocked Bonito is the ultimate truggy engine IMHO though I would not hesitate buying a P5 again.

I like OS engines but a P5 is right at home in a truck.

Try anything from Monty, I am sure it will be great, I have tried a B2 werks in my truggy and it ran great, I currently have a Bonitto with ceramic bearings that is just awesome. I wanted to order an Fusion x5FM but needed an engine sooner than expected and couldn't wait for one to be shipped in from the US to Vietnam.

Cool NEW TRUGGY MOTOR - PICCO, AXE or LRP?

I'm trying to decide between the three motors as they all have their pro's & con's to show. I know figures mean nothing but I'm looking for a power house nitro motor so all input is greatly appreciated.

These are the motors..

* AXE R25 Cobra .25 {3.86HP/42,800RPM}
* Picco Boost 5TR .28 {3.1HP/33,000 RPM}
* LRP ZR.30 X .30 {4.21HP/38,300RPM}

Many Thanks!

Default Picco

The LRP 30 is a monster and the most powerful of the three but the rod needs replaced often if you run it hard.I have a picco 28 and it has held up well. Not on your list but the best option would be a .25 roma from Novarossi.

Have you looked a Fusion X7? Novarossi based engine, very smooth and tons of power.

So the higher the CC doesn't necessarily mean "more power" then as I don't really care about racing regulations. It's just a truggy that I use for thrashing.

Higher CC generally means more torque, but for a truggy a .28 has more than enough. As you go up in CC, you lose revs generally. For most race truggies a good .21 is plenty.. IMO a truggy will be faster with an LRP Spec 3 .28 (or the Losi 454, which is identical), than with an LRP 30.

A lot of people like Picco, and I've liked the .21's I've had. I also like the LRP Spec 3/Losi 454 though, given they cost half as much... I know some people will say the Picco is faster and "better quality", and that may be true. It won't be twice as fast though..

I've had a bunch of LRP's though, so I'm keen to try a new Picco Boost. So that's why I said Picco.. For a basher truggy with a .28 I'd also get a Fioroni slider clutch..

For the money, Losi 454(closed backplate), JP-2 or JP-3(So far I REALLY like the 2047 too..) and the Fioroni clutch and you're sorted. Odonnell purple plugs..
