Default VZB Speed Cranks?

Hey Guys, can anyone tell me if the crank from a VZB speed spec 1 and 2 are interchangeable? Regardless, any info on the difference between the two motors is welcome.

Yes, all the Vspec cranks are interchangeable. Slight timing differences, coated, filled, weighted etc... between them but they will all work.

Thanks.

Are the VZB speed 1 and 2 exactly the same though?

There is no VZB spec 2. VZB is the original version which has been discontinued for years. There were only 2 models. The VZB V-spec. And the VZB V-spec speed version (also available for On-road)

If you need VZB parts look into Bullit, Arrow and JQ as they are all VZB models with different names.

All the new OS lines are now XZB and the parts are not interchangeable.

Sorry but this is not correct I have them at home. One head says "spec II" on it and the other does not. Just like there are now 2 XZB speeds. Reason Im asking is Im getting ready to rebuild the Spec II and I have an old first run Speed laying around and the crank in it is in better shape.

Yes both Spec one and two cranks are the same. The VZB Spec 2 was the World Champ Speed engine which had a change to the block along with the larger holes drilled in the head.

Thanks! I had a feeling it was just the block. I remember them because the newer ones had the longer reinforced area for the back plate screws.

No worries. what you are thinking of as just the VZB speed is probably a Spec II. The first run wasnt around nearly as long.

the spec 2 had a drilled out lightened aluminum head... so i would say they were 3 but the only difference from the al. head and mag head was just the head... sigh i know that sounds wrong

all parts are interchangeable

Thanks for the help guys. I love these DLC cranks, makes the engine rebuildable at least a few times. I put a new PSR in my spec II 3 times now and the crank is just starting to wear.

I do remember the mag head motors. Didnt they run hotter or something?

wont work well... different stroke on the engines... so the vzp crank does not have enough throw to get teh proper stroke on the xzb
