very true

that much oil is very hard on the rod/crankpin as too much oil fills the combustion chamber during a compression stroke effectively reducing the volume of the combustion chamber , similar to lowering the deck heighth

race 3000 is a very good balance of engine performance/longevity

X2 on Byron race 3000 (30%nitro, 11%castor) Personally I believ this is the best mix(30/11) for all types of nitro RC enthusiasts. Great performance and protection for your mill.

Werks fuel is the best fuel on the market IMHO........ I have run pretty much everything out there and nothing offers the performance of Werks while still maintaining good protection...there are a few that perform as good as Werks, but they don't protect as well, and others that protect as well but don`t perform as well...Werks is the complete package........ And I do believe I push the limits of these engines much higher then most and if a fuel is capable of protecting my modifieds it will be capable of protecting anything..........

My personal preference for the past few years has been Torco 30%. Very consistent, clean burning, and easy to tune. LOTS of good fuels out there though....

It's not 11% castor, it's half castor, half synthetic so 5.5% castor.

I made it to the Hobby shop. They only had Byron's 20% so I got a gallon. Now to carry this thread on alittle farther, Can I add something to this blend to bring it to around 30%. I have read in the past about racers adding additives to their fuel. I wanted 30% but they only had 20%. So I'm stuck right now with 1 gallon of 20% then I'm ordeing online.

Personally I would stick with 20%. Most guys I race with run 20% (myself included) and have good power and their engines last. Byrons 20%/12 is the norm around here.

The best %25 fuel IMO is the fuel with the best combination of quality, price, and reliability of supply you can get your hands on. For me that means Tornado %25. If you have the luxury of choosing from ten kinds of fuel, great for you. For me it's really low grade junk fuel, Tornado @ €11 a liter, or driving an hour to pay €17 a liter or whatever for some BS RB or Orion CRF whatever-the-fxxx fuel...

Tornado it is.

I'm gonna use the 20% see how that goes. I used a gallon of odonnell's 30% which ran good but that's the main brand Hobbytown carries around here.

While we're on the fuel questions, what is the life span of fuel. Does it go bad sitting in the shop, or sitting on the shelf in the h/shop.
