Default Do I need 30%?

I am new to RC but am already up to 4 cars. One of the cars I have is a Kyosho MP777 with a Novarossi .21. The orginal Rex engine it came with blew up the conrod. I have since replaced it with another Novarossi .21, used.
I am just looking to bash and play. We have a small track on a friends property but by no means am I "racing" right now. Should I be running 30% in this engine? I only ask because it is a higher end engine. I just want reliability and longevity but dont know if a Rossi engine needs the extra octane.
Not trying to stir up the 20 vs 30 debate that I have seen online.

So 20% would be a little low for it?

25% is good for engine in cold weather.
30% is very nice for hot weather use.

I run 20% with a v-spec and it rips I really do not see the need to run 30% club racing...

Here in Denmark, we couldn't get our Plus 4 engines to run on 20% nitro. 25% is the ticket. 30% gives you more power but will reduce the longevity.

I always run Byron's 25 in my werks b6 pro,I never liked 20 and thought 30 was too much so I always stick with 25,great power and longevity of the motor

Looks like I'll cut the rest of my 30% with some 20%, then start buying the 25%.
On another note, would 25% be ok in a Traxxas 3.3 or an old O.S. .12?

Traxxas engine runs hot. OS not matter what you use, they will not last the same with Italian engines. Dont forget glow plugs selections has major impact to the engines too.

yes OS does not last longer than any Italian engines. How many gallons can a P5X go through VS OS .21 V-Spec, any experienced 1/8 nitro person will tell you the truth instantly...
