Alphas are a great motor. I have owned the f850 but i ran the z852 in both truggy and buggy and loved them. I have since switched to precirotates and have not turned back

precirotates?? Is that a motor??

Off topic, but your avatar of the foxbodies doing a burn out. Is one of them yours?? I have a 93 mustang gt with a fully built 408 with a 90mm turbo. Just curious because i myself am a big foxbody fan..

If you want to see a pic let me know. I'll be glaid to post motor pics and of the car

that is a great engine, i run it on buggy and truggy and has more than enough power. i run the 0801 pipe in buggy and 2081 pipe in truggy. the buggy i get 10 min a tank, truggy get 11 min a tank. they tune easy, holds a tune and last a good while, IMHO you cant beat it for the money, any Alpha at that mater.

The Alpha F850 is a great motor, same materials as all the other alpha motors. You can find a little better price than that but if it is a local shop it is worth a little extra to support them. I have sold some F850's but never ran one personally, only Z852, S852 and A852.

The rebadged Dynamite at amain with blue head is just an F850 Alpha, right?..

I thought the F850 was supposed to a bit tame compared to the Z852, which is more for top-end/buggies, and the S852, which is more for low-end grunt/truggies..

OP - Argus, Alpha, the blue Dynamite at amain - all the same manufacturer.

The Argus with 0801, like in my video, is a nice, powerful, cheap combo. ANY of the Alphas will be. I like what I hear about the A852 - basically that it's almost too powerful..

Precirotate, the D5 at least, was a rebadged Go GX-5R - which is also a good engine.. That's what I had in my SC8 before the Argus. I think the Argus is better though...

Hey guys!!

So I will be getting this motor asap. It looks like it has plenty low end and mid which I want and kinda need. I don't need a engine that will push my sc8 to 50ish I'll be good with 40ish.

Heres a vid!!

I'm sure the F850 is good, but I would still get the Argus or Alpha S852 or A852, because they have more torque and are more designed for heavier truggies.

You also shouldn't base performance expectations on a video of a buggy that weighs substantially less than your SC8. An SC8 probably weighs %20 or more than a HB buggy...

Still, if you're decided on the F850, go for it.. Will probably be great...

no, the F850 has more bottom. the F850 has good bottom and good top, its a good all around engine. with the 2081 pipe in truggy, it had more than you even need, never under powered. the F850 is the best of both, and similar to the Argus....

the Z852 i love in buggy, smooth bottom (can be snappy) and great top, its a little weak in truggy, but it still gets the job done in truggy.

its like the best of both worlds between a 28 and 21... has the low end grunt of a 28 with the mid to top of a 21,, and the run time of a 21. when i was running it in truggy, i was getting over 10 min easy. ran the 2090 pipe. great engine, when i start running truggy again, its going back on. its great for truggy or SC8 IMO

I agree - the Alpha .23 would be a perfect choice for the SC8.. I haven't run one yet, but have only heard great things.. I hear it even revs pretty high.. So yeah, should be like an Argus on steroids.. If I needed an engine for my SC8(as opposed to having too many.. ), I'd get one in a heartbeat.. Whack an 0801 on there - 2090 is for runtime... Pppffff.... (jk - )

I'm really torn in between the two. There are vids of the .21 but I can't fine any of this .23. Anyone know where I can find a vid??

Also the 21 is more $$ money than the 23 does that matter?? I know my money is going toward one of the engines.. Thanks all and if you can find a vid that would be awsome!!
