Default Warhead Evo g-27cx tuning help.

I just rebuilt the engine with new bearings, seals, piston and sleeve. The problem I'm having is, it will start, idle, and run when it's on stands with the wheels off the ground. But when it's on the ground it'll accelerate for a 10 seconds then just shut off. The Hsn and Lsn are at factory break in settings. Also then engine RPMs vary on their own when on stands. The engine will speed up and slows down. Like pinching the fuel line. So I can't get the engine broke in properly.

Any suggestions?

Probably an air leak somewhere. Did you seal your carb and backplate when you re-built it? Check your fuel lines and tank as well.

Assuming no problems with your clutch, it sounds like an air leak. Do your wheels spin while the truck is on stands? If it does, something is messed up in your clutch.

Check the tank, more often than not, the pickup in the tank is the culprit.

Found multiple issues, first engine did have an air leak so I got some high-temp rtv and seal backplate and the carb. Second the brand new dtx tank was cracked at the feed nipple, factory over tightened. Third is servo that runs the trans keeps failing. Lpoking to figure the last out still.

I have heard one too many horror stories with that engine and airleaks, I would suggest next time its tired, replace it with a Nova or RB .28

I'm actually doing a full rebuild to sell it. My LHS just sold 2 of the original ones used for $250 each. I seen them both and neither was in as good of shape as mine. He's going to consign it for me and we're hoping for $300 which we both think is decent.

I'm trying to break the engine in and get it tuned decently so that who ever buys it will be able drive it without much fuss. The people who bought the two last week said they're running great and they're enjoying them a lot. So I hope it this works out.

I also sealed the transmission and filled it with 75-140 synthetic diff lube. It'll seap a little but the transmission will function better.
