Default Engine choices

I've narrowed my Engine choice down to 3 and I'm sure there is better, but do to budget and where I'm purchasing from these are my choices so help me choose from these. Werks B5(WRXTL21B5) NVision521(NVO003)Orion Alpha ABI(ORI80677) From what I've read these are pretty much sister/cousin engines (correct me if I'm wrong) what i want know between the 3 is there any discernible difference (run time/power/reliability) or just personal preference. This will be going in a in a Losi 8T 2.0, probably going to use one of the Dynamite pipes(budget) which one would use along with your engine choice for the Truggy. Thanks in advance.

Got about 1/2 gallon on my Werks. Very good so far with Dynamite 086 pipe. Haven't run the other 2, so I can't give you feedback on those.

i have both werks b5 and orion 3 port. they both run awesome. they are made in the same factory but thats about it. a few similar parts. in truggy i would go with werks b5 because you might run out of top end with 3 port. but i would run a dynamite 007 or 053 pipe with it. And when you can afford it get a 2013 werks pipe and let that motor fly.

+1 there!!!
I got a modded B5 with a 2013 pipe and its killer! I know a couple with stock ones are pretty potent too. It's got pretty much all you need in a truggy engine. Gobbs of bottom and legs like a Jamaican Sprinter. It would be my chioce, but I havent tried the Nova or Orion so I cant comment on them. The Dyno pipes are good pieces too. I run a 086 MR an my son's buggy with a Picco B3 motor. He gets around 12 minuts to a tank with a Evo 2 carb and the smallest restrictor. He has beaten the livin crap out of it and it only has one small ding in it from getting T-boned.

I ran werks motors for almost 2 years they are good motors and the b5 is a powerhouse with a 2013 and has more than enough power for a truggy but i just got a alpha to try out but i am sure what ever you pick will be just fine.

I'm running that Orion in truggy right now, It is a 5-Port BTW.. I am running it with the Orion 2013, and it rips.. And I mean Rips.. I was in a quandry between Orion or Werks when I purchased, and my deciding factor was a local is sponsored by Orion, so I decided because of that, and I could not be happier.. I will also say, the Werks B5 will not let you down either.. The Nvision, if it isn't the pro version is essentially a blend bewteen the B5 and Discovery 5-port.. Only the Nvision pro gets the trick crank..

You're really at a point to flip a coin (although 3 sided) and go with which ever comes up..

If you decide on the Orion, contact Greg B on this forum.. He will give you a killer price on and Engine and Pipe Combo, if he has any left.

my B5 has been hands down my best running engine ever, I bought it last yr. when I signed on with Werks and to be 100% honest I quit counting the gallons at #8 wich was begining of this yr. its such a awsome engine I have loaned it out more then twice that I can think of off the top of my head to somebody that needed a engine on race day (needles to say I know 2 of them now run b5's, no b/s I dont play that game) set up with a 2013 it is the best truggy engine out their period.

but to be fair the orion engine is also very fast tebo was on fire at the nats with it in his truggy!

just because they are made by the "same" company does not mean anything. look at chevy, gmc, cadillac they are from the "same" company but I would much rather ride in the caddy escalde over a chevy suburban

Thanks guys I think I'll go with the B5, I can get just a "tiny" bit cheaper and seems to be safe choice.
