Default happened again! help!

a few weeks ago i posted on here about my t-maxx 3.3 motor like seizing up. i was running it and it just stopped and stalled. when i go to start it it cranks over and the truck moves forward, but wont start. i thought it was the tranny, but it was fine. i took the motor apart and everything seemed fine. i put it back together and it worked good. well it did it again today. this time, i noticed one of the pins on the flywheel that hold the clutch shoes on broke off. and the hole is kinda rounded out bigger. and the motor turns fine one way, but when i turn the flywheel the other way, its hard to turn plus i can feel and hear like grinding noise. do i need to buy a new flywheel im guessing? i took a pic. you can see the pin laying there that broke off. what is causing this? even with the engine like it is all apart, its still grinding and hard to turn it one way?

you need a new fly wheel and clutch assembly. as far as turning the motor over it will only go one way smooth cause of the starting sytem on the rear it has a one way bearing so one way is smooth other way catches and turns the gears in the ez start system

ok, yea i took off the ez-start and the motor turns nice and smooth. i thought the one way bearing was shot. yea i figured on a new flywheel. but why a new clutch? the clutch shoes are mip and they look fine. so does the clutch bell.

check your spring or springs in your clutch. they maybe seized up. that the clutch is engaged a little. also check clutchbell bearings. they might be bad

you can usually find these at harbor or auto zone for just a few dollars..... or you can tap lightly on the back of the flywheel as it is a press fit onto a tapered collet.

The holes closest to the edge are for a slower engagement and similar to stock. The ones closer to the center are for a faster engagement. We used to shave our soes to shorten them and achieve the same in racing.
