My JL runs great in Arizona with OS P4's and P5's on 30% s&W fuel with 9% oil. I use the JP-2 pipe with it. Break it in the way it comes shimmed and then you can remove the thinnest shim after about a gallon or when the nuts drop.

Happy to help. Most people like the JP-3 pipe best but when I broke my JP-3 I switched to the JP-2 and did not notice any significant difference. It's a great little mill for the price. Runtimes are not fantastic but ample. Have fun with it

I can tell you the 2042 pipe works killer on my X1-v2 and I run our Med and Hot plugs with good results. I'm trying to get this pipe from Hong Nor soon I beleive it's the 2047 but I want to have them in Hard Coated.

Be carefull with the OS plugs. You have to look for metal fragments in the head/piston etc, the first time you remove the OS plug. The thread in OS plugs are different than any other plugs.
I run HPI Pro engine (same as yours and RB killer). Stock shim (still VERY good compression after 7 liters of fuel), 20% nitro, O'Donnell 77t plug (perhaps 97T for more nitro), 6 mm Novarossi venturi. Used the Break-in bible.

My favorite pipe is Novarossi 9901 (efra legal) and JP-3. Very similar in performance and great runtime. I WONT recommend HN 2047. That pipe doesn't do anything good for the engine and the runtime are HORRIBLE!!!! I had to lean the HSN 1/3 of a turn, when I put the 9901 pipe on the engine, after running the HN 2047...

I'm using the losi RE10 on mine with a fioroni T5 plug.I get anywhere from 10:30 to almost 12 min runtime in buggy depending on the track.I do not recommend removing A shim. When I did it my engine started to predetonate and luckily I caught it in time before it ruined it.Some people have had good luck with it but to me the slight performance increase is not worth the risk. These engines last a long time if properly maintained.I've had mine for over a year and still going strong.

I moved the original thread about this engine back up
to page one, so you guys can find it.
As far as glowplugs. I've found that the Ofna T-series
glowplugs to be the best, longest lasting glowplugs
in my Clocked JL .21.
