If bearings are still in I will use either nitro spray or WD-40 and a air compressor..... But I usually will not do much cleaning if there are bearings still in the case...too much risk of just flushing the dirt into the bearings....Hudy Bearing tool is your FRIEND !

Had the filter fall off my trusty O.S. V01B this past weekend and I guess the plug ate itself before any serious damage happened. Engine was FILTHY inside. Flushed everything out, replaced the rod, and she's as good as new.

Should be the last time I forget to tie-wrap the filter elbow to the carb

At least now i now im not the only one who washes motors with soap and water......just make sure u finish it up with denatured alcohol ,air compressor and a whole lot of WD40

How to kill an engine? Try this:

A member of the local club, bought an Hyper 8 engine for his Ansmann Virus. Just after the very first start of the brand new engine, he put the car on the track, and started leaning the HSN. After a few minutes the settings was so lean, that the engine sounded like a tubine! His engine was way faster than a Novarossi Plus 4 engine and some RB's on the straight! He didn't listed to our advice of turning the HSN OUT... After one liter (1/4 gallon) of fuel, the engine had no more compression... he is still convinced, that it is the low back pressure in the pipe, that killed the engine????!!!!... .

Well... Now he has a Hot Bodies D8T.... with a Novarossi Toro Nero!!!. He hasn't tested it yet...

Actually a sad story...
