Well
I think the 053 is the perfect pipe for a budget. the 053 is the midrange pipe, and 086 is a top end pipe. In theory the top end pipe would be perfect for the p5, and it is, it gets good fuel mileage too if I remember correctly. But since I started running the 9853, similar to the 053 I never went back. I suppose you could use the 086 on a larger track with smooth flowing jumps and turns, but for most turn and hit it on the jumps tracks like most are these days the 053 is simply punchier and makes a p5 scream off the line and really doesnt hurt the top as much as you would think. I would spend the extra money on a strong Nova header though because the dynamite headers can bend easily and you will know where the 30 bucks comes from if you put that 053 pipe on a nova medium bent header. You can buy the 053 by itself and that will save a bit of cash from the start, but pony up the bucks for a nova header.

I ran the P5 in both buggy and truggy this weekend. I tried 9901, 9986, RE11, 086, 053, 2013 and 2058.
IMO, By far the best on that engine was the 9901/RE11, 9886 and 2013.
I am a total fan of the 9901 and 9886. To bad the 9886 is not a super strong.
The 9886 is a beast, just huge power everywhere. The 9901 just controls it to the bottom end.
