On the Mamba we found the JP2 pipe worked the best and on the Cobra i ran an 053 pipe. How did you like the X2 will you keep running it this year are will you be Moving on to other motors?
Chris, I always start with the JP4, but will swap if I need more torque or high end, just like any other motor. I keep all sizes for tuning.

I can seem to get about 10+ mins with the JP4, and has a smoother mid range, so that is the only reason I start there. If the track allows it, I'll stick with that set up.

I like the motor, it has the power when I need it, and the smoothness to maintain consistent runs. ...and tuned right, really good fuel mileage.

Using Byron 25% and Axe 2050 pipe that comes with it. Engine has been in the store as I have totally give up on it!
Mine would not perform with the Odonnell plugs. I stuck with the axe plugs, and runs great. These just won't tune until the temps are up. So I don'y even mess with needles until about 175+. Seems to like the 235-265 range in temps.

Did you ever try the pipe that comes with the X2 i have one coming with my motor and was gone to start with it and go from there.

It sounds like this motor is gone to fit my Driving style real good i am a Smooth Driver and like a motor with Smooth power i have run lots of motors that wear like a LIGHT SWITCH with the power and i could just never drive good with them.

When i switched over to the Axe Rossi motors i could see the motors fit my driving style.

What up Crews? I ran for Axe a couple of years ago. I still have running an old Mamba, two Cobra X1, and a 25 Cobra X1. The 25 is a BEEEAST, with much better mileage than a 28.

As for pipes, my team engines came with the #3010 (3-chamber) pipe, which never made it to the mainstream market, in lieu of the 2050. However, I preferred the JP3 on the 21's for shorter tracks. The JP4 is still on my Cobra 25, which replaced my RB C6 w/2045, so you know it had to be for real.

As for plugs, I caught hell with everything, until I changed fuels. After trying all the Axe plugs, and the OS-P3, I settled with the Odonnell 97T eventually.

You may want to help bring back to life the Axe Rossi thread on SGrid. When you come down the NC, please bring an extra conrod for me.

Good luck this year,
RJ

I was interested in this engine awhile back but couldn't find any opinions on it ( or much for axe rossi at all for that matter ) so I went with a safer choice but I still wonder about it. nice to see someone giving this engine and company a bit of exposure for the rc community .
