A pinch will last as long as it did before the pinch. There are many factors though, dirt and heat being the biggest ones.

How do can you tell if you just need a pinch or a rebuild?

Mainly the motors I rebuild are for guys that don't feel comfortable taking there motor apart and getting it back together right. But there are quite a few things to look for, main one being if the crank is worn. Bearings can be a little tricky to tell if they need replacing, you really can't tell until the bearing is totally clean.

Rex,

I'm planning on sending you an S5 for a rebuild. What would it cost me extra to get you to mod it for me as well?

I charge $40.00 for a basic mod, I will mod it cheaper if I already have it apart to pinch or put in bearings etc.

Just got my piston and sleeve back today from Rex. Nice and clean and everything went together nicely. I won't be able to fire it up for a bit, but I've had enough sleeves pinched to know this one is going to fire right up and be like new. It's back to where a good running engine should be. Pops nicely when ya roll it over by hand. Great service and can't beat the price. Thanks Rex.

Your welcome! It is easier to pinch a motor when I have the whole thing, if I get done and it doesn't have a nice pop I redo it. It's a little harder to do with just the p/s but that's where experience helps. I'll always redo one for free if it's not right or doesn't last.

I am now tooled up to lighten and epoxy ramp crankshafts. I will mod a used engine but it needs to be in good condition and within my specs.
