very good reliable engines, the z21r spec 2 buggy engine & the z28r spec 3 1/8th truck engine are the goods.

both engines also come with extra carb venturis so you can fine tune to suit the tracks you race on.

AE or LRP, in their infinite wisdom, doesn't import the .21 LRP engines. You could import it from Europe I guess. I do like my Spec 3 but it's a bit of a gas hog. My roomates 528XR nova definately has more power though. Still, the LRP isn't bad for a <$200 motor.

I get a little more than ten minutes in my ST-R with the 9.5mm insert. That is good fuel economy considering the output of the engine. I am planning to use the next smaller insert to see if the economy improves without dropping the power too much.

Overall I like the Spec 3. Less than half the price of a Nova and the same track performance.

The lrp range of engines are just rebadged SH engines.

yes & no, the lrp are produced by SH, LRP have their own specs & crank work & the liner also. you will find the internal moving parts are different to that of the SH.

again these engines are proven to be fast & reliable.

I'm running the Z12R in my GT2FT and it is a gutsy little engine especialy for me who has little experience in 1/10th gas trucks. Wheel stands on the grass are easily obtained with a blast of full throttle from a standing start. the only thing I've found with them is that you have to be surgicaly precice with your neddle adjustments, I'm almost breaking down minutes of angle to seconds to get it spot on. A fraction too far either way an it is like being a whole turn out.
