help with buggy stalling
#16
Thank you for all the input. I have some homework to do on the engine.
1. The buggy has never run right. I built it at end of Winter and have not had good track time. (Anytime I was able to get to the track we have had lots of rain and track was a muddy mess)
2. I purchased the engine used. Seller may or may not be telling me the truth about condition. Compression seems lower than it should. I replaced the glow plug thinking that is the problem.
3. I will reset all the settings to factory and try the tune method again, but I have a feeling it is combo of bad tune and bad clutch. - I ordered a new clutch and motor. I am sick of sitting on the sidelines guessing and no one even in person can figure it out. Everything you guys have mentioned I have tried already.
I think the main problem is the clutch not disengaging. I had a Losi RTR that ran great and did not have this problem.

The factory settings will be way too rich for an engine with some time on it. Go a full turn leaner than the factory setting on both needles and have a fully charged glow driver.

What plug are you using?

It sounds like clutch to me, if the engines tune is wrong youll hear it before it dies, fat as hell or screaming, but a clutch randomly binding will stop the engine, you guessed it, randomly.
either that, or as someone mentioned if your throttle is open a smidge when not touching the trigger but closes just a little bit more when you brake, it could be your idle is actually lower then it should be, try adjusting throttle trim to clamp it shut when not touching anything and see what happens.
You say you got a new clutch, get a new bell while youre at it, cant hurt and may make things better.
