Cool Drifting

I got my drifter ready mabe we could do some wheel sometime at Issaquah . I tried it at the center and it work's great outside but I started to get traction inside so if you want to do indoor drifting on the carpet then setup a new set of drifter wheel's and clean any sharp edjes off of the sides of them and then polish them with auto wax or RainX...This should provide some super sliping though I have not tried it yet but as you know me I will try anything.
PS. BTW ABS black pipe works best.
Drift On
Patrick.

Yeah. Let's make a RC drift event. Lot of RC drifters will be show up. I can help to promote it on the other auto's forums.

Doug, are you sure of the possible consequences to the overall traction this will have to all the other racers?

I have heard it does bad things...... Like leaving platic residue on the track, and a nice row of marbles all over the place.

who did you heard that from?
we could set it up for a race near the end of the month, then when we clean the track for the new layout it won't be an issue.

CJ, have you seen any of these tires yet. They won't leave anything behind. They are super stiff. Remind me when you are down there, and I will show you a set.

I think he is referring to the PVC converts Kevin. The Tamiya and Yokomo tires are mostly rubber(Y) or all rubber(T)

Cool Drifting

NO PVC!!! only ABS will work for drifting at SIR . the PVC shreads and leaves the marbles like you stated CJ but the ABS BLACK does not do that ( to the best of my testing or knowledge). My only concern is the long strait-A-way could be bad as UM (some unamed driver) showed me with my TC4 convert. mabe a end of day race at the end of month like Doug said .

NO PVC (the white or yellowish stuff)
ONLY BLACK ABS WILL WORK and no it do not leave the marbles.

I read this some time back.

My vote is no for the drifting on the track with plastic tires.

Hey, I see nothing wrong with drifting, as long as it doesn't interfere with the other programs that are going on.

Maybe a once a month thing before the track change so it can be vacuumed.

I know its cool to do some power slides, and 4 wheel drift through a corner, but its not really racing. Well, I guess it can be, but racing is about going fast, and you can't go fast with plastic tires when the purpose is to be sliding all over the place.
