Default Tuesday Work Party

Tuesday Work Party at Premier RC Raceway. Tuesday 6/10/14

We will start building jumps and whatever else we can. I will be there by 1:00pm. I am currently working with Bruce to make sure we have all materials we need. I assume we can work until 9:00pm or so.

Please chime in if you can make it and what tools you can bring.

We need:

Jig saws
Miter saws
Screw guns with phillips tips
Circular saws
Extension cords
Saw horses
Nailers and compressor

I will bring a jig saw, circular saw, drill, and saw horses.

I will have templates made for some common jumps. I traced all the jumps at RC plus yesterday and having been drawing up some others.

Materials list to come but feel free to bring any 2 1/2" wood screws, 1" - 1 1/2" drywall screws, and any 2x4", 2x3", 2x2", 1x3" lumber or any plywood you want to donate.

I meant common as in we will make 6 of the same jump for doubles and triples.

I was tracing yours so I knew what not to do. LOL!

Fun night at RC Plus. I cannot wait to get our own carpet track up here!

So, I picked myself up a B5M and an MT4 now time for some internals. I have a couple questions about batteries. How many will I need for a night of racing and what size (mah)? It seems shortys are the predominate choice for the B5Ms so I will probably go that route. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Don

All shorties are between 4k-5k mah and last a 6 minute main no problem. I suggest having atleast 2 shorties on hand. My favorite batteries are the silverback shorties. They have great punch and don't fade. If your looking for a cheaper option the SMC packs seem to be pretty decent. Most run Orion, Reedy, turnigy, SMC, or silverback. All are good. Take your pick. I prefer silverback.

Shorty packs are "predominate" in Stock racing. Anyone running Mod with a B5m is running saddle packs or Square packs. This is not to say, That the shorty pack won't be viable on carpet. We just don't know yet.

As far as packs are concerned, Reedy is #1 for me. Silverback tied with Reedy due to having ourselves a great dealer as a local racer who can help you with questions and problems. Dialed packs for sure. mAh is a non-issue.

Actually there were very few if any running the heavier (Reedy square or saddles) packs at the J concepts nationals at Tacoma. (HIGH GRIP) ALL were running shorty packs in the Mod B5M cars. In stock, I agree as SC says above: "shorty packs are predominate". I have not run a heavy pack indoors since the Tacoma race. The more the traction the less you need to keep the B5M locked in with weight. On high grip the car feels sluggish with the heavy pack and as you try to throw it around or jump in far past the landings it just "splats" and wants to bounce over.
