final driver for Asstc4 Seattle R/C Racers
Hello everyone, My son and I came out to the last race. We enjoyed it a bunch so I bought a couple of cars. the problem is I have no idea what gears you run. I have a new associated tc4, and Im wondering what I should be shooting for a final drive with a 25.5 ballistic motor. There seems to be a lot of variables so I just thought maybe someone else could give me the best ratio for our track at the Sand Point CC. Thanks BBT

what gear pitch will you be using? 48 pitch is more durable but less gearing choices. 64p is less durable and can be a pita to set gear mesh but alot more gearing choices.
your car has an internal ratio of 2.5:1.
what spur gear do you have first off. then i can calculate what pinion youll need to be close to what you need.

if you go with 64 pitch get a 78 spur and a 55 pinion. that puts you at a 3.54 final drive ratio.
if you go with 48 pitch get a 60 spur and a 43 pinion. thats puts you at a 3,48 final drive ratio.
either of these will put you right in the ballpark for scale spec.
then buy "other" spurs and pinions to move the ratio up or down to your liking and motor temps and performance.
i hope this helps. doug.
