I have heard whispers that there will be an electric 1/8th LM class this season. Is there any truth to this? I hope so

Awesome, I'm ordering one right now.

Anyone want to buy an OFNA 1/8th LM capable of track record runs and all the running gear for it?

Every other? Why? Is Nitro going to every other as well?

I also just heard rumor that there is discussion about 2S and 4x4 SC motors? Where is this discussion happening and how can I take part? If that's the horsepower package I won't even bother...

Next club meeting is next Tuesday. Round table pizza in mount vernon. I'm sure dirt classes and rules will be a big topic of the meeting.

Can I write in? I'm busy that night already.

Myself and Wes vote for up to 4S, open motors. And here's why. Plenty of people already have 2S packs, and for less than $5 you can make a jumper and a Plug to have yourself a 4S pack.

Open motor because competitive Motor and Speedo combos can be had for dirt cheap. The Hobbywing Monster ESC is only $100. Short course 4 pole motors and speedos are going to get super expensive as people start looking for more and more power over their competition. (again this is only hearsay as to what you guys have been discussing, but I figured it was worth addressing)

Peter, I try to stay out of the dirt oval stuff since I gave it up a few years ago but I will make the pitch for you and Wes. I agree on the 4s thing. Most if not all the electric 1/8 off roaders are running for 4s so it would only make sense to do it for oval.

By the way congrats on the snowbirds win.............

Thanks!

Oh and one more thing, and I guess this could go across both the electric and nitro classes. I would pitch for a spec tire, the Losi DLM2 is great. Low cost when you consider that it lasts the whole season .

Thanks Monty!

On the tire thing I thought I heard a rumour of foam tires. A lot of guys ran them last year I think. I believe they are leaning that way.

Yeah a lot of people did, but I went just as fast with the DLM2 rubber tires as Houser was on foams. (I held the track record for at least a week I think...) I just saw spec tires as a way to save some people money ($26 a pair versus $33+ a pair when you can find them, not to mention 4-5 shores to choose from).

But now that I think about it, they have already had it open for a season. It's not really fair to lock it down for all the guys that bought foam tires last season thinking they were required to be fast.

I heard the meeting went well, and that Fred was appointed to oversee the Electric 1/8th DLM class and develop the rules that will be submitted for a vote by the members later?
