Goodby Jose
#106
I just wanted to add our condolences to Jose's family and close friends. we had only had a brief chance to meet Jose at one of our gas races and it was a pleasure, we never really have made it up north so we unfortunately did not get a chance to know him very well.
We did get his poster on the wall, but I want to apologize to all his friend, we wanted to see if Franko would say a few words at the drivers meeting and it did not happen. I apologize again, and am very sorry for the loss of what was obviously a great man.

See you tomorrow...
In roughly 24 hours from now we will be starting a new season at Fantasy World and I thought to myself will I see you there..
I am thinking yes.
I will see you when Mike pulls up in the bus....
I will see you when the smiles and pipes come out....
I will see you when racers greet each other and the "dust" is knocked off the cars and equipment..
I will see you when the track is together and when the Mtn. Dew is being sprayed...
I will see you in all the faces that pull up to see what is going on...
I will see you in the faces of kids pointing and cheering..
I will see you when your friends step outside of the racing and take moments by themselves to think of you and wipe the tears away...
I will see you in the faces of people stepping on the bus for the first time and realizing how great the program is..
I will see you when someone helps someone out...
I will see you all season long....
See you tomorrow Jose.

I was thinking to myself that this season might be a little weird not seeing Jose getting organized while pulling into the parking lot, and not hearing his enthusiastic voice on the mic when calling a race (and boy does he know how to make a race sound good!). But you're right Kyle...we WILL see him!!

My goodbye
Hello all,
I was sadened to hear about Jose. I am still here in Iraq so it was hard to get on the Internet. Jose was there to see me off the first time i went to Iraq. I am just sorry i couldent do the same for him. As you all know he was and forever will be a soldier. But i still want to say my good bye i hope you all dont mind. He would have known what this meant. many of you might not understand it all but it is a poem for the soldier when they die and it will be a great honor if you let me post it:
Fiddlers Green
Halfway down the trail to Hell,
In a shady meadow green
Are the Souls of all dead troopers camped,
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddlers' Green.
Marching past, straight through to Hell
The Infantry are seen.
Accompanied by the Engineers,
Artillery and Marines,
For none but the shades of Cavalrymen
Dismount at Fiddlers' Green.
Though some go curving down the trail
To seek a warmer scene.
No trooper ever gets to Hell
Ere he's emptied his canteen.
And so rides back to drink again
With friends at Fiddlers' Green.
And so when man and horse go down
Beneath a saber keen,
Or in a roaring charge of fierce melee
You stop a bullet clean,
And the hostiles come to get your scalp,
Just empty your canteen,
And go to Fiddlers' Green.
Rest well Jose, for one day I will see you on the green and we will share a drink from the old canteen.
Chris
