So I just got back into the RC thing after at least 6 years. Well I found this race series and thought I'd like to try it out.
First question is, can it be any 19t or 27t motor or does it have to be spec? (if those are even the correct terms)
Next question, I don't even know exactly what car I have, other than it's HPI and looks similar to the sprint chassis with a 15t motor (slightly different probably because it's so old) well anyways, I don't know if anything has been done to the chassis, and hope that wont stop me from racing, would hate to make the trip down and not be able to run. Is this a possibility?
Another question, I saw that you need a transponder... Does that mean I have to spend another 100 bucks to get one before I race? I only saw the transponder links on the EGTC site and they looked about 100 bucks.
Ok finally one last one. If I came down to race with a 19t (I wouldn't even know what gearing to use anyways) motor in my car and wanted to race the pro-stock class, would I be getting in peoples way and throwing off their racing? Just wondered if there was a beginner class so I wouldn't get in the guys racing for the series.
Anyways, thanks for the info in advance. I tried to look before I asked but there were so many pages I was getting lost.
there are plenty of people of guys there who will help you out and help you get your car set up and help you with gearing and what tires to run. there are plenty of classes to run in. i would recommend you start in the sportsman class. you DONT have to have a transponder to race, your laps and laptimes just wont be counted. there are a few that dont have transponders. And yes Ebay would be a good place to get a used one.
Please have your numbers on your cars. If you need numbers, I'll have them at the track.
This is the last regular race before the 2-Day event on the 25th & 26th which will feature a different layout...I will let you know all the details on the race tomorrow...I will need everyone that plans to run the race to pre-register so I can plan for the barbeque both days, etc.
Hope to see everyone tomorrow! Should be a nice warm day for racing!

Ok... So the new SC10 is all the craze now. My question is this: What can we expect for rules with the Pro4 class so I know what to buy for motor, esc, etc. etc.
From my little bit of looking around the RTR is coming out with a Reedy 17 Turn motor, but from what I understand is thinking 13.5 brushless? for his kit. So can we get some definition of what will be legal to run.
My opinion is we should do what other tracks have done and run the SC10 is a mod class. Pro4 should be open tire/motor as long as it is a SCT tire. Any motor.
It works well this way and keeps the people who want to run the trucks competitive in a class they belong, and the people who want to bash can run the Slash Spec.

The District Manager for Red Bull informed me at work that the "Wings" team will not be attending the race this weekend...This leaves me with no Sponsors for this weekend at all now except for the EGTC/Bubba's Barbeque.
