According to the A-Main web site they are going to change the track before the ECT event. Is that still the plan and what tires work the weekend after a track change. Is it going to be a full track change or just a jump or two?

We are not doing a track change before the ECT event. We are going to run the track in the reverse direction and reshape a couple of jumps if needed. Tires that are working good are pink tapers and the Panther spec tires have been working really well for 4wd. Traction has been really good, other than a couple of cold, dry days when the track dried out a little, but it was still pretty good.

Just for the record, I think the spec tire idea is a good one. The tires work well for the intended tracks and do keep the cost down. I know that Tom, Roger, and I have been running the Panther spec tire a lot in 4wd and they work really well. Not sure what Tom was running on Friday, but I know there were a few sets of the Panthers running. Other than running with 3 wheel drive, my tires were fine even when it was a little dry. They may not be the best all the time, but they work really well most of the time. This wet weather we are getting right now should help keep moisture in the track and bring the traction back up.

Is the track going to be open for regular Thursday night practice? (Don't care what direction, just need some wheel time.)

I just called A Main and the truck will be open Thursday night. I didn't talk to Tim or Dave but I don't see any issue with opening up the track Thurdsday to the direction run this wekend. That is no diferent then Four Seasons.

This should be a killer race!
