Additional information for regionals.
We will be adding stock foam to the entry list per the national guidelines.
Only approved motors (stock,19t, and mod) as posted on the ROAR web site or in Rev-up are acceptable for use.
FYI*-The epic c2 is the only current ROAR approved 19 turn.

Perhaps I've missed something.
First mention I saw re: upcoming regional race was a passing mention of it under the Rain City thread. Had I not seen it there the regionals would have come and gone without me knowing.
Upon seeing this mention I did a little research. I cannot find mention of this event or it's scheduling on the ROAR website. It is not in the current online Rev-Up even in the Region 11 "let's pat our own backs" section. I can't find reference to the host club hosting any sort of website. This event is, apparently, the best-kept secret in the free world. I know what Bin Laden ate for breakfast this morning but I can't find any information about a regional-level event for the region I'm assigned to in an organization I pay to belong to.
Further, no notice was sent re: this event to our club, Magic City RC Racers which IS A ROAR REGION 11 AFFILIATED CLUB. I realize we're the bastard step-children of Region 11 (hung way out here in Eastern Montana) but this sort of treatment is BS. We pay our dues like everyone else, it would sure be nice to be included like everyone else.
I can certainly understand why we don't get included for non-ROAR series', etc...there's no getting around the distance issue. But this is a ROAR event for crying out loud.
There is no way ANYONE should have to read every thread on RC Tech to find out important information like this. I happen to have that weekend off for spring break and would have LOVED to attend my region's Carpet Regional event.
Please point out where I'm mistaken.

Scott,
I can totally understand your frustration. You bring up some valid points and no you are not mistaken.
I know that this race was a "quickie" in that it was only decided maybe about a month ago. So nothing would have been put in the region 11 newsletter.
Now whether Eddie has access to the roar website to post events, or he has to send the info to them, I don't know. Not sure it has been done before, but it's something to consider for future events and to notify each other about events such as these.
I guess we rely too much on rc tech to get the word out and to gather information.

Thanks Darren and Deb.
I appreciate that Eddie is new in the RD position and that he hasn't created the problem, but for the future it is IMPERATIVE that important regional issues (including event scheduling, bid info, etc) need to be communicated directly to the affiliated clubs and our contact info is clearly identified on the ROAR site. We CANNOT rely on intra-club gossip, smoke signals, divination of tea leaves, or clairvoyance to communicate--we need an organized method/channel of communication and make regular use of same.
Also I guess I just don't get why, if it was arranged in haste, that the event had to be stacked so close to the decision. I appreciate that there likely isn't any one perfect weekend, but it seems this is a perfect example of the maxim "haste makes waste"...unless there is some sort of imperative that a Carpet regional has to be held in the first calendar quarter or not held at all.
HOPEFULLY Darren can get me a race flyer AND I can cancel recently made plans with my wife that now conflict with the event.
