I bought one the other night, but thanks. I got a M-03, just to get out on the track. I have no illusions that I'm going to beat Jay Franz, with my car, but just hoping to get the feel of Mini racing with it. Don't have the cash for a M-05 Pro right now, wish I did, maybe I could challenge Franzey in yet another class. Just hope I can get the M-03 running good enough to not get totaly smoked. Bring your tires though, I have no idea what I will have for it by then. Looking foward to the next race, maybe I'll even grow a set and run my VTA car too.

Cool

Hey there John -? -
this Sweep race coming up , could we run the Sweep tires in the Tamiya mini class ? I only ask because my A's and S's are wearing down and I was trying to save them for the TCS races here and you know how much they cost , the sweep tires last longer and are cheeper . Would like to come up to your track and watch the babe's on the beach - I mean race and have some fun ....

Thanks . . .

me

Sorry but it just wouldn't be fair to run Sweeps against Tamiya tires. If you need tires I can lend you some for the day or sell you new ones. Our everyday price is 13.99 for S-grip and 14.99 for A slicks. Don't forget we run a bone stock house motor and its 15.00 bucks. (12,500rpm + or - 10%) I hope you can find your way to the race. If not I'll see you at Madness

Default Vintage Trans am

Ok so I had such a good time racing in the Mini Cooper I felt obligated to put together a car for the next race.

So heres what we got so far!

1970 Barracuda
Factory Team TC3
Ballistic 21.5 Brushless
Teken RS ESC
KO Propo 2366 Servo 180/13s

Upon the cars first run it felt great however I have not set the settings for the esc. Does anyone have a setup sheet?

Also I have a friend who might be interested in the drifting comp any information would be great!

Set your to ESC to any one of the lower software versions, below v.200, because they have better drive frequencies for "zero timing" applications like VTA. Which brings up another VTA rule, locally no one is using ESC timing anymore so be sure that your ESC timing is set to zero! (if the software version you pick even has timing available) And get ready to have fun, VTA without ESC timing has some really good racing from the top of the grid to the bottom.

when we open this race I was just some how tide up thinking our mini tires are for mini 4WD only, which I was so wrong. I found out latley most of our tires sold to MD, VA, PA area was for mini 2WD TCS racers, if this race can't allow our tires for the mini 2WD classes, I will make sure we have mini 2WD as our regular class for every Sweep races.

hello John

I just found out tracks at VA, MD area allowed open tires rule at their mini 2WD classes., nobody seems like running the Tamiya tires no more for variouse reason.

the basic rule we all have common is , we want to bring most people as possible to Da beach track to promote, that bieing said

if the tamiya tires are available at the track, I think it's only fair to have Sweep tires to be available at same time, cuz for the people who purchase Sweep mini tires that day also can save them for any Sweep challenge races. on a same coin . ppl who plan to travle from MD, VA area need to purchase tamiya tires just to race one day and useless till there next TCS race.

this way we don't turn anybody around for tire choice reason.

but after all, this event is a "Sweep Challenge", the Mini 2WD class was set as just a additional class to keeping SIRCCC's regular racers happy (VTA, RCGT, mini TCS). the event will be run by John brown's crew and John is the main person of the event therefore all I can do is ask

Thanks for the consideration John.

John Lee

Cool Brownies Hobbies !

Cool thanks John , I will need those loaners , and will someone have the tekin in their computer so I could change the setting in my T/A car ? and will we have elec. hookup . . .

And yes J Lee a lot of tracks are running no tire rule with our tamiya fwd / 2wd and we can also run any mini body at H/T here in G/B Md. , and that saves a lot of kash also . - My Sweep tires work Great and will save me a lot of money !

Also any hotel info. would be appreciated .

Default Mini tires

I must say that I'm a little disappointed in the talk about tires in the mini class. We started this class as a fun class and it has grown to be a class that serious racers are learning to enjoy.

I will say it one more time only.

We follow TCS rules with the two exceptions of after market bodies and the use of a house motor. Motors also will go through my dyno if I ask the driver to bring it to me at the track.

There will be fun had in this class!!

Ok, I'm ready to go. As you can see I'm taking full advantage of the body rule.
