thanks for the input, iam looking at these reciver packs and it seems liek they are made from sub-c cells that are used to power electric rc's. Am i correct? If so cant I just make my own pack? Get 5 cells, soem battery bars, shrink and what not, and make a pack? Even if i get liek unmatched 3000 wound that gimme killer runtime?

None of the packs mentioned are made from sub c cells. They are made from 2/3rd aa cells. Of course you can still make your own, but it is up to you if it is worth the time to do so especially when the promatch battery is only $15.

Ahh ic, so they arent sub-C cells. Will sub-C cells work tho? Iam thinking this is the best option. 5, say unmatched 3000's, sub-c, made into a side by side pack, with a connector for my reciver. That way i can peak charge them and discharge and what not. What does every1 think?

the biggest issue will be if they fit on the chassis, and then they are going to be a lot heavier than a normal rx pack , so id just stick w/ something like ib 1200's, or something along those lines.

Yes you could do that but it wont fit into your car. You are able to peak and discharge with the 5cell flat 2/3a cell battery.

i have a friend that has already tried using sub-c cells for a Rx pack, he didn't notice any better difference, and they weigh alot more.

Yeah thats going to be very heavy , not worth the runtime....youll just have a sloppier , slower car with more roll and probably will be off-balance due to a bunch of weight being added to one point.

Normally they design the car for a certain battery and off-set all the main components to distribute the weight load evenly around the car. So when you change something like that youll probably have to dump a bunch more weight somewhere else to make it equal out , thus adding a good 150-200 grams to the car just for longer run time...in which your car will be much slower.
