2017 Pan American Int’l GT Grand Prix, Jan 13-15

Homestead RC Raceway and RC1 Racing invites you and all of the GT nation world wide racers to come race with us at the 2017 Pan Am 1/8 GT Grand Prix. This event is exclusive for 1/8 GT cars only.

The Pan Am Grand Prix has become one of the major international events on the calendar for GT racers and will start 2017 off with a great event. You can ask those who attended last year what a great time everyone had racing in International competition.

When racing at Homestead RC Raceway you will be competing on one of the largest tracks in the USA with great amenities available to make your racing experience special. The track has a 1,000 ft racing line. The pit area is covered with ceiling fans, electricity and lights. Each entry gets one free pit space with chair. If you need more room, extra spaces can be rented at a nominal fee. Fully equipped toilets with running water, sinks and towels for men and women are within easy walking distance. Ample parking available with loading carts for loading and unloading your racing equipment.

We will have four Classes this year. The GT Sportsman Class for beginner and intermediate racers, where any .21 engine up to 5 ports with a 7mm carb restrictor may be used. The GT Pro Class for expert and factory drivers, where any .21 engine up to 5 ports with a 7mm carb restrictor may be used. GT Masters for racers over 45 years old, where any .21 engine up to 5 ports with a 7mm carb restrictor may be used. These Classes will be governed by ROAR Rules. The fourth class we will offer will be 1/8 GT Electric, open motor, and 6S batteries maximum.

We hope you will accept our invitation and enjoy "Excitement in the Fast Lane" while racing at Homestead RC Raceway! - More detailed info with photos and video are available at this link. http://www.rc1-racing.com/

What airport is close to the track?
Thanks

MIA, Miami is the closet. 45-1 hour. depending on traffic and construction.

FLL, Fort Lauderdale is not much further in all honesty when you are talking drive time. 1 hour to 1:15. This is an easier smaller airport to get through. Most times has cheap flight (is a hub for airlines like Southwest, Jet Blue, Etc)

Wing height

We have had questions about how we measure wing height in comparison to roof height. The simple answer is we do not. We do not use a jig or bubble level.

The wing must be mounted directly to the body using the molded standoffs without any spacers or shims to raise or change the angle of the wing.

A diagonal measurement is taken from the forward most point of the wing to the highest point of the rear of the wing. The maximum length of this diagonal measurement is 75mm. The wing may be trimmed from the front, rear or both to achieve this measurement.
