Never tried KO PROPO SERVOS????
I had futaba servo 9402(I think). On steering and gas (1:10 gas)
It broke a lot of time the first gear of that servo.
Now it is more than 2 years I use Ko propo servos. (digital steering 2343+ analogic gas2174)
They never break.... until now.

@ Rookie Solara:

Regarding 1/8 onroad I also got the advice from some old timers at my track to use Futaba digitals.
But they recommend 9351 for throttle/brake. Why is that? Is that much torque needed for the rear wheel only braking of a 1/8th?

Thanks for your advice!

I was a person who didnt think good servos were worth it.... then on the FW05RR, I put in a 9541 for the steering and a Hitec 925 DIgital for the throttle/brake...

Beautiful... crisp throttle response, and the steering was lightning fast. Worth every penny

Are they 9451 or 9541?

i run these servos on both my throttle and steering!

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/2479

ok i admit they arnt popular and not many people use them but its what i have found to be most reliable.my steering servo on my old car actually vibrated so much on the chassis that the servo cooling fins cut 1mm deep lines into my 4mm hard anodised chassis!!!!!!
i have never had one fail on me and i have a few buddies that use them for 1/5th scale.
one guy had two linked up to work the steering in his 1/5th scale (like the lst monster truck) and he forgot to plug on of the servos in so he did a 10 min race on one steering servo !!!!

I know this is an on road thread, but I used the ACE RC servos referenced by ae_ntc3 above on the throttle and brake of my MBX-5 and Jammin 1/8th scale off road buggies last year and had zero problems with them. They aren't very flashy, but for $85 they are hard to beat. As with all digital servos, make sure you pay close attention to your EPA.

Tonight I took another jump out from Futaba. Found a really good deal on Ko Propo Digital Servo. $48 shipped , .14S @ 60 - 90.3oz torque. Weight 1.59oz or 45 grams. Gonna be the servo for my drake vehicle and probably might run this on the r40. I like how its a lightweight digital. Ill let you know how it runs.

Also right now im running an older coreless futaba in my r40. I got a couple of these units long while ago. 9404...its pretty sweet. Defintly will be much stronger so I can tell a difference in the s3003's.
