Which transmission for my RS4?
Looking to get a 2-speed.
Found these. Says they both fit the RS4 2, but they have different model numbers.
UPDATE - Found them on the HPI site, and as the auction says, one is just more heavy duty. I attached pics.
HPI72516 $57.50 shipped
HPIA910 $48 shipped
Which should I go with? How exactly do these things work? I just know that the OS .18 has a lot more potential because this thing is topping out pretty low because of the gearing. I don't race.
Here is my car.

The second one is actually listed in the original instruction manual for my car so I just went with that. No need to get all fancy.

I'm not going to race but I just read on the instructions it says "It's designed to be strong enough to handle Nitro .12 or .15 engines"
What do you think? I have an OS .18 in it

Now I'm thinking I should have got the heavy duty one. Should I email him and exchange it? That might be kind of difficult though.
I guess if you look at it this way. I've been taking it pretty hard, and if every other plastic part on the RS4 is holding up, this should.

You NEED the HD version 2 speed. The Original one simply has the one way bearing press fit into the 1st spur gear. The HD one has an aluminum seat for the oneway and the gear snaps onto that. Otherwise you are going to start spinning the one way bearing in the plastic gear with the older style.
Take some care though. Even with the HD 2 speed, on a high grip track I was ripping the mounting pins off of the 2nd gear when I shifted. I finally used some threaded rod and attached it more securley.

hd
We put hd in ours, and we run 21 engines in ours, and they work fine. an ae .18 should have no problems.

I wrote him an email. Hopefully he can exchange it. Haven't heard anything yet.
