Default Engine question for all you onroad guys!

Hey everyone, I've got a Mugen MT12 that is running great, but something is bugging me about it.

I removed the carb, expecting to see a carb sealing o-ring, but I didn't! I usually run JP or OS big blocks, so I'm not a Small block Genius............

It looked like it fit in there perfectly, the way it was machined and everything, it sealed down perfectly........I put some sealant on it anyway, but is there supposed to be an O-Ring?

The engine runs perfectly, 225-230, low reliable idle and everything, just wondering if there was supposed to be an O-Ring...........

Most novarossi 12s have an o-ring at the bottom of the hole that the carb seats against and one on the carb to seat against the top of the crankcase. Did you buy this motor second hand or new? If you bought it new, refer to your instruction manual/parts list. The MT may have a different carb than the MR that l have, but l doubt it. Mine has 2 o-rings.

The MT12 only has one o-ring on the carb neck.

The one in the crankcase came later.

If your holding a good tune and the engine runs perfectly, I wouldn't even worry about it. Engine runs perfectly, hold its temp. at 225-230 F, low reliable tune, and everything...............sounds like you have a winner.
