haha, i thaught i needed glasses till i read this post
what you have is a G4 Mongoose.
if you get creative you can make this car quite compettitive. get the G4S steering and drill a hole in the chassis to use it. the one already there isnt lined up for the newer bell crank steering. most G4S/RS upgrades will still fit this car. things like the back shock tower mount and rear top arms from the G4RS . and the ED trans, might need to get the UFO clutch though. but run it with just the steering upgrade and it should do you fine.

ok guys i'm back with another stupid question.

I have been mezmerized by the bling of the g4+ and i've decided to buy it.

what i need to know is what will i need to purchase to make it run.

I already have a spektrum radio so, i'm thinking

Engine

header and pipe

2 servos

Will i have to buy spur and pinion gears for it? and if so, do you guys have any recommendations as to what to get brand wise for the above and what teeth pinion and spurs?

I'm looking for speed but, i'm also trying to get a racing club started in my area becuase driving in a straight line is only fun for a little while.

thanks for the help and i look forward to driving a TM car very soon.

Definately a Mongoose.
As Patto mentioned do the mod for the steering and if i recall there is pics and a tut in the G4S thread for this mod.
With the steering mod done the next thing i would recommend is a UFO or UFO2 clutch with the ED transmission and you will be good to go and compettitive.
Nice thing about teh G4_ range of cars is the cars can be upgraded to current spec or varying degrees to suit different types of tracks.

nc racer !

"what i need to know is what will i need to purchase to make it run."

"I already have a spektrum radio so, i'm thinking"

Get yourself a mini receiver i.e. Spektrum 3100 / 3500 and mount it up near the transponder, or welcome to radio troubles !

"2 servos"
Buy the best you can afford, Sanwa, Futaba, KO Propo etc.....I'd stay away from hitec though ( bad experiences )

"Will i have to buy spur and pinion gears for it? and if so, do you guys have any recommendations as to what to get brand wise for the above and what teeth pinion and spurs?"

they come with gears, you'll need spares - I use 16/52 for first and 20/46 for second almost everywhere, if anything, get some 51 & 52 spurs for first, 45, 46 & 47 for second, but I guess it depends on your engine choice - Picco, Novarossi, Sirio, OS - all good

HTH!

p.s. PATTO !

Next time I see you, I will zip tie you to your pit chair and slap the serpent out of you....hehe!
