Or should just look for a used g4s online and get a used engine. I have tons of time. just trying to get some info .
For getting into racing quick and kinda affordable the RTR is a good way to go. The kit engine isn't exactly a Novarossi but it is SG shaft, rear exhaust, and 2.49cc. It's the best RTR for under $300 IMO plus since it's a G4 that means alot of other G4 hop ups can fit it.
However every car has it's quirks and after you're done dealing with the RTR's quirks you might start wondering why you didn't just get the used (fill in the blank) racing car in the 1st place.
That always leads to the used vs new debate. On one hand you can get something that would normally go for a whole lot more albeit used and possibly abused. On the other hand you can get something virgin, that supposedly won't give you any headaches, and you can learn on and with. (You will have headaches w/ the RTR though, think steering servos!)
Know what you want out of your car though. If you plan on driving on the street more often than on the track I suggest the Kyosho Fw05/6 since it's shaft driven and only takes some parts to turn it into RR status. Belt cars get abused badly for street and parking lot bashing.
