InitialD .... yes you are right.. I drove one way b4 with my electric car. So...I perfectly understand how to drive it...the right way with oneway and yheaaa... it actually teach me to drive a bit smoother in and out of the connor.....I actually set the brakes just enough to slow the car down....it's so light that if I keep on the brakes I won't spin out.....any ways...with the way I drive....i'm going to try front salid diff in.....it just a little easier for me to drive.
If you like and you able to drive the above setting is fine. Its all in the matter of preference. I just did the above setting like yours, but i don't use any front shock tower and using the optional laydown shock tower for the rear. We have move to a new track location and it was so loose on my car, that i have a hard time trying to figure out the best setting. My last setting was using the front yellow and orange rear for my last race of the day. It did helps with the rear traction but i'm getting too much oversteer at off trottle, which i don't like. And i introduce to much body roll on a small track, which is not good. I think i'm going to change back to yellow spring on the rear and trey it again next week at the same track. Any inputs?

Nizee,
All you have to do is look at my set-up!!

Yeah, I think the yellow springs in the rear will work better on that surface. Also try alittel more toe in the rear for the oversteer or back some steering on your radio.

Dude....i have already move my toe-in to -3 as what David told me on my main. Until my brake arm came off (forgot to put the screw in ) and my knuckle arm came off frm the pivot ball and have to quit the race. But thanks for pitting for me though...

Yeah. I heard rumours about that a few weeks ago. I believe he is running Mugen with Picco engines. Not good news for Serpent USA.

Well..for my parking lot track...they put some sugar water on the track....I forgot to mension. So..with a slicely ruff serface with sugar water on the track...the car give me alot of puch into the cornor. I did some chage and see alot of improvement on the car. I give more caster to the front and seem like I have more agressive steering into the cornor.

Well...next week ..I'm going to try a bit stiffer setup with the spring and may be go up a little on the shock piston (harder oil) see what the car will do. I think I have a bit too much body roll.

Cool. I knew he had left Serpent but you know what rumours are like. They are only ever half right . But I knew he was connected to Picco. Its on either the Picco or Paris Racing website.

Not sure of the reason why though.

But lets just say I'll be staying with Serpent next year in 200mm but I will be selling my 705 (fact).

Thumbs up Set up`s!

I think I have a good set up for you guy`s. First shorten the front wheel base like they do on the 950,next use serpent 35/weight oil in the dampeners, set the fronts at 2 holes&the rears at 3.Mount the front dampeners on the bearing blocks, and the rears on the middle of the shock tower& the bottom of the dampener on the rear arm. 2.5deg. toe in on each rear ,0front toe3% rear camberand 2%front I run no spacer on the rear upright and the one way in the front. For braking try the Mugen teflon brake pads, you have to trim them a bit but it is well worth the time.
I hope this works as well for you as it does for me!

Ok now i'm a fair person and let you in on that secret(well it wasn't a secret,i read it off the grid )now it's your turn.

You say you're not racing your 705 so your either going back to the impulse(not) or you have a secret that i want in on,is this another RUMOUR or do you have something solid?

I hope Serpent come out with a new 200mm soon!
There are a lot of nice and competitive cars coming out on to the market now days.
It only makes sense for Serpent to come out with a newly design 200mm car to compete with this new cars coming!! Its EVOLUTION in the hobby world!!

As for Marty Barnes, I would to race any kit that someone gives me for a fully sponsorship….Serpent USA is stingy to their sponsors drivers.

Well I wont be reverting to an older model for sure. But even if they do bring out a completely new car next year they are not being dishonest about the thing. They never said that the 705 was a new car. They purely made the Impulse better and changed the names to let people differentiate between the different scales (which is stated clearly on the MYTSN website somewhere). All they have done is alter the weight distribution and add on a few 1:8th and 235mm parts to enhance the performance of an already great car to allow it to compete better against the other cars on the track. They even offered a complete upgrade kit for existing Impulse runners.
