What are the differences ? What gives the type R of such a hefty price tag ?

A cursory glance at the images on google suggests to me that it has upgraded shocks, alloy I believe and a different chassis to the gt2vs and cvd's, maybe this link will help some

I can't imagine somebody buying this car, price tag is $699.00. A really high price when compared with better GTs like Serpent Cobra GT and Mugen MGT7.

Well, as already stated, with gt cars like serpent and mugen that are cheaper only in price why would you spend the extra on the kyosho? I can't see any advantages to this kit compared to the others.
