Post Shaft vs Belts

Belt: Smooth power, efficient drivetrain, durable, more balanced chassis layout.

Shaft: Easier to maintain, less wear, cleaner chassis, less rotating mass.

Belt: More wear, more rotating mass, messy layout, easily contaminated.

Shaft: Gears can strip, torque steer, unbalanced placement of heavy components.

Thank you for the pointers.
I think belt drive might be the way to go?
With all the nice powerful engines available, power delivery does seem very important.

What do you mean by torque steer?

Having raced both shaft (FT NTC3) and belt (V1 RRR) I certainly prefer the belt over the shaft....the belt drive has been much more durable in terms of drivetrain components
Cheers

Now I don't feel so bad about my belt-driven RS-4 2 =-P

It is possible to see the performances, this type of CONICAL

5 fins manifold - short type (best solution on long straights)

6 fins manifold - medium type (suggested to have more push exiting curves and on the straight)

7 fins manifold - long type (more power exiting curves)

It seems that MRX_Joe has been spamming all of the threads with this header babble. Moderator?
