Default Battery Help For The TK10

got her all put together and ya know what, there is barely any room for the battery. From what i have seen with this car has it uses li po batteries to run the electronics. I thought it would be as easy as buying a lithium polymer battery slapping it in and she's good to go. I guess this isnt the case, my LHS said if i were to use a li po battery i would need to also install some kind of regulator since standard recievers/servos take a 6v . I have a JR 135 3ch fm receiver the battery hole on the bottom of the chassis is a slab of carbon fiber and there is very little room. normal batteries wont seem to fit it. so i guess my question lies in the realm of, whats a really good, really small battery. They also mentioned something to the effect that the battery would probably only be good for one run. so lemme know your experiences with li po batteries, regulators, and wire harnesses that will fit the receiver.

I think you can use AAA size batteries for the rx pack. See if it'll fit under the fuel tank.

1150$ with the upgraded x3 motor and exhaust.
120$ for the digital steering servo
50$ for the RX
x$ for throttle/brake servo
x$ for battery setup/charger

im not sure that even a AAA set up wil be adequatly small enough, i would still need a box for that set up no? i think i have 2.5'' of length and even less on the space between bottom deck and the top of the the tank.

if you look @ this article http://lib1.store.vip.sc5.yahoo.com/...-rc/tk10rc.pdf you can see their setup

keep the ideas coming

so what do think about this set up?

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXKAR2&P=ML
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXFBL0&P=7

i have a digital servo and their tech department states

"Not recommended for aircraft installations using digital or high
torque servos. For use with 2-cell batteries only. Not suitable for 3-or more cell applications because of the higher voltage these batteries produce."

is there a reason why this would not work?

there is a malaysian company that is making li-po cells for rc cars. i think they are available in the US now. They are called vxr racing. Check out www.vxrracing.com. OR look in at this thread
http://www.rctech.net/forum/showthread.php?t=71773

They also makes li-po cells for transmitter batteries.
cheers

I agree, from the side view photo I think an MTX-3 style pack will work.
