New Graphite Components
Serpent has "officially" released the prototype graphite components for the Impulse that they have been testing for a while. Now available are a graphite radio tray, a new battery pack kit designed specifically for use with the new radio tray, a front shock tower, and a rear shock tower. I highly recommend them... you gotta get the towers at the very least!

Engines!!
1. Well, I have the first model impulse. Single speed, side exhaust. First off, what temp do you guys run the side exhaust at. I find that I don't get good top end unless I am at least 280F.
2. Has anyone put a four stroke engine in their car? I was thinking that if I got the OS .26, and then the centax clutch, that it would work out nicely. Any thoughts.
3. But then I thought that a 4 stroke would be a pain, so what engine would be a good ROAR legal engine? (I will also get the two speed).

The NovaMega SX-12 RE rocks! You will need the aluminum chassis brace/belt tensioner though, because the mid belt will rub on the header without it.

Yeah, that is probably the one that I will get. But for some reason, I would just really like to try a four stroke. Prolly won't be able to afford it, but I sure would like to try it.

Re: Xray Front Steering
The Pillow Balls are the 2 - 8.5mm That Is Used For Adjustment Of the Front End And Are Mounted Into The Steering Blocks.
The Front Steering Block # is 30 2220 = Left ......30 2210=Right
Both Of These Are (Serpent) X ray Numbers.....You Will Also Need To Replace The Bearings With The X-Ray Bearings For the Steering Blocks.Me and The Team(local) Serpent Drivers Also Found That If you Put Ball Cups & balls Into the Steering Blocks It Gives a Little added Clearance. All Of this Allows You To Run 25mm Front Foams With Out Cutting them Down and Not Wear The Links Out and Makes It easier to Adjust the Front End.I have Put Many Differant Hop-ups On My Car Front Solid Front Axle,
FPS Pro Rear Diff,Carbon Fiber top Plate/ Shock Towers I highly Reccomend HIGHLY The # 1 Thing For any Impulse, And I am Also Working on a front 1 way at the Cost Of 12.00 That Has Worked Good So far But Still Testing. AlsoThe Front Impact Front Bumper works Great Igives You Much More Bumping Power hehehe But Must Be trimmed Down Some For ROAR events. If you Have any Question Please ask There Is 6 Of us On the Local (serpent) Team And we are alwyas Tring Something Differant.

Pt. #808337 (rear 1.5mm anti-roll bar) is listed as an optional part for the Impulse. By itself, it will not fit if you mount it in the groove that is in the back of the chassis. You can get the Impact's Top brake plate and install it on the Impulse. In this configuration, you will be abe to mount the anti-roll bar on the brake plate so that it swings back towards the rear arms like on the Impact. Also spotted on the car was an Impact-like graphite "L" brace. I was told that this was a prototype part. This part would be required because the brake plate uses the mount holes normally used by the right and left-side chassis braces.
NOTE: If you have the rear exhaust engine, you can't install this brake plate unless you find another belt tensioner that mounts on the radioplate somewhere. You won't be able to mount the chassis brace if you install the Impact brake plate. Some people are drilling and tapping a hole in the side of the optional aluminum radio tray "X" brace, in order to mount a fixed belt tensioner there.

Re: Re: Xray Front Steering
... did you use xray's front wheel axle as well? because bearing's internal diameter is different ? i can use the impulse's steering pivot ball, same size right?
