Default mtx5 modification

Was wondering if anyone knows if the lay shaft bulkheads from mtx6 fit the mtx5 I would hate to spend all that money on a new car

The center to center distance for chassis mounting holes is 14,50mm.

But you will need a lot more parts to upgrade to MTX-6 specs?.
By just replacing the 2 speed bulkheads you won't cure the MTX-5 problems.

Isn't it better to sell your MTX-5 and buy a new MTX-6?.
I think this costs the same as upgrading, might be even cheaper.

True, a 6 is selling about $5xx in Taiwan, a 5 should be sold for $2xx.
It's not worth to upgrade it that way

my plan was using the lay shaft bulk heads and trimming them and using that carbon fiber brace on mtx6 on mtx5 and hopefully problem solved

There is an aftermarket stiffener for the MTX5 to reduce the gear stripping but also if u get the shock towers, and new springs for the 6 and put them on the 5, helps out a bunch in handling

The knack brace was the answer and still is the answer in terms of the gear problem of the 5 , but there is more to the 6 than just being the answer to the gear stripping problem. I have both , and I don't regret stepping up to the 6. . Now back to the 5, it's kind of a hassle to order the brace but if someone is tight on money and can't upgrade then yes get that brace

Was also wondering what differences between the 5 and 6 that make the 6 alot better other than the gear stripping cause they look the same to me

The knack is the best brace out there by far...if that is the only problem u r having knack is your best bet....but check the breaks because stiffening the chassis put more stress on the break parts...an then make the set up ajustments for a stiff rear end!!!

The new shock towers and springs are the biggest difference you will find between the 6 and 5. The new springs are progressive and the shock towers are shorter. To setup ride height you don't have reload the spring to get the correct height. By doing this the car has a softer feel to it which seems to help the car roll in the corners unlike the 5 which was a very stiff car.

You can order from Pro futaba in Japan. With that said, ordering just one item is not justified.
Simply look out from online store

Default about mtx5 and mtx6

Much better to buy a mtx6 than to upgrade your mtx5. Before I've been thinking to buy mtx5, but I bought this mtx6 than to upgrade and it cost more than bucks to upgrade a mtx5.

Default mtx5 mod

Ok so here is the news I just got my knack brace and man does it do wonders the chassis is stiff upon braking as far as gears go I did find updated gears for mtx5 this new plastic material which I think the gears off mtx6 might work but gonna
put those in anyways and realign engine and install gears and see how it goes. So far my investment cost me about 60 bucks for upgrades.
