Default Disappointment with Xray NT1

Hello guys!
I'm disappointed.

During assembly of my Xray NT1 2014 I discovered that two pieces came defective.
It is my 5th Xray car and it seems that there was a decline in the quality of Xray products.
Has anyone had the same problem?

Defective part 333240
Where is the screw thread on the piece on the left?

Defective part 337250
In pillow ball left there are two problems:
1 - Finishing poorly done, because of that, the steering block does not move freely.
2 - The screw thread of the pillow ball is not continuous. Are just creases that are not interconnected. Because of this, I can not fasten the pillow ball on the suspension arm.

The one on the left seems very poorly made.
I think they ROLL the threads in a lateral compression manner and they are not made with a die. Unless they were cast.. Distributor will replace them surely.

I have to agree with the original post, I have built 3-4 different versions of the NT1, and the "normal" Xray quality has dropped with the 2014 version.

To me, it feels like XRAY rushed the 2014 kit to get it released. The 2012 and 2013 versions went together so easily.

I also believe that the problem was the delay in the launch of the car.
Produced in a hurry, the quality was impaired.
Unfortunate.

i do know from their facebook page that they did get some new equipment and possibly operators in to the manufacturing end this year maybe it is just teething problems in manufacturing they need to sort out.

Its like the GM Plant in VanNuys, Ca in the '70's. Vehicle built on Mondays. Same as China and Japan after drinking on weekend hangover. QC lacks. You're just a lucky one.

A few tiny pieces still don't justify a thread about quality going down !!!!!! I would understand if the chassis was tweaked or missing holes or something...... I just want no excuses before my Ntc3 beats it on the track....lol...

Build a lot of kits from all kind of brands, never was a car completely 100%.
All brands have this in some manner. Just get new parts by your shop.

I even dont ask for a free new one, just buy the parts.

If you look hard enough, there's QC issues on anything.

Contact your hobby shop or the distributor, XRAY was great at sorting it out for me the only time there was a problem with my kit.

rasta man,

Like a few have said on this thread, contacting Xray or their US distributor, RC America, about what you deem as issues would go a long way than this thread on RC Tech. Three years ago, I had an issue with the clutch shoe with the kit I bought. I did not put either Xray or RC America on blast. At a race in Houston (Porter) TX, Ralph Burch was there (from RC America). I politely approached him about the issue and he told me that some kits had that issue with the stock clutch shoe that was 1mm too thick. He took mine and gave me one of his new racing clutch shoes no questions asked. He also gave me one of his slightly used clutch shoe so that I could finish my car to race at the event, including helping me to adjust the clutch for the engine I was running.

If Xray or RC America had not helped to alleviate your issues and you wanted to put them on blast, cool. But, to not let them know that their are possible issues with some kit parts and still put them on blast, not cool.

I had one of the very first batch of Serpent 748's and found a couple QC issues with the kit. All I did was send a quick email to Serpent America and within a few hours had a reply saying spares were in the post free of charge. Arrived the very next day! I've since built another kit from a newer batch and the issues weren't in that kit. A thread on RC tech won't help you need to speak to the importer or manufacturer direct. I'm certain it'll be sorted quickly. Manufacturers can't afford not to these days!

Cool

I had a few missing screws out of my $1000 Awesomatix A700ex kit, so I went down to Brooklyn Hobbies, and bought longer screws that secured the front bumper better than the ones that were supposed to have been included in the kit.... No one got blasted by BERT, and you know I'm an expert at Rctech BLASTING !!!!!! SO I GUESS XRAY SHOULD RECEIVE YOUR APOLOGY SOON !!!!LOL!!!!
