Default window openings

Is it a must to cut the windows out on a nitro car body?

Yes. Otherwise you would have a some serious heat build up. Very bad for nitro engines.

Just more ventilation. If your engine temps are good, I would'nt bother.

I usually cut out one window on the side of the motor / closest to the motor. That generally helps the cooling while not sacrificing body rigidity. Otherwise you will get a hotter motor and this means youll need to richen the mixture to help cool the motor more = less power.

I found taking the side windows had about a 10 degree f cooling benefit after taking temps before and after using a temp gun.

Besides, the front end is going to wear out long before you have trouble with the roof.

My engine is worth more than the body....
