I think for the first time you wouldn't find it very funny to drive there.

We had a lot of GI's close to where I grew up and you could tell who had just arrived. The ones that drove in the right lane , very slow, looking scared...
My younger brother and his German friends blasted his Mercedes Benz S350 from Dusselldorf to Frankfurt at 200 - 230 kph all the way

I took safer way of transportation : ICE train @ 320kph I'm not Michael Schumacer anymore. Have children now.

Once I lost my driving licence in 6 months after I set my foot in LA. I was young back then -- read: stupid. I blasted my car 270 kph at 10 West freeway at 3am The LA police was nice ( thanks America !! ) he didn't put me in jail, but he gave me 3 months probation.

you're crazy!

anyways, i want to jump in to this forum.

i'm 26 and been racing for almost 5 years.
as for cars driven, i started out with:
1. duratrax nitro force (advertised to go 50mph which was the reason why i bought it. i thought it was the fastest out there )
2. hpi nitro rs4 2 racer
3. ofna ob4 nitro
4. associated nitro tc3 (this was my personal favorite at that time. what a big jump in performance coming from my previous cars)
5. mugen mtx-3 (what a big change in performance and durability. no more "radioshack" style race cars! )
6. serpent 710
7. mugen mtx-3 prospec (i went back to mugen earlier this year because i couldn't get the 710 to perform similarly)

i had a tmaxx and raced offroad around the time when i got the rs4. also had a associated rc10gt afterwards and then later on switched to losi xxxnt drake edition. i've race offroad also but focus was mainly onroad. earlier this year i got a kyosho 777 sp1. i've raced it only 3 times this year. i also have a klein nitro sprint car for dirt oval racing. i got it around october last year. what a great oval car. but i haven't raced it much this year neither. just can't find time.

My first car was a RC10 TE, 2nd Tamiya TA02 chassis civic, 3rd HPI RS4 SS, 4th Savage, 5th HPI R40.

This Hobby is one of my many vices.

Hey Jeffery, Im didn't know you are 37!? I thought you are at my age!

Im 29, this is my 5th year of racing!

Oh and I am 37 and I bought my first RC car at 19 (Tamiya Fox) and raced for a year or so. The local track closed and I quit until a couple of years ago I picked it up again.

Any M-BMW, AMG-Mercedes or AUDI S and RS model, that had the limiting chip removed would go that fast, not mentioning Porsches and Japanese sportscars.

Ever checked LA traffic. The weapons are all there, and plenty of 'em......

I guess what's usually missing is the balls

I drove from Athens, GA to San Diego, CA, in ...I think it was 1975, right after the speed limits went from 70mph to 55. I covered 2854 mi in 38 hrs., we averaged 75 mph for the entire trip. We went across Arizona at about 3 am on I-40 in 1 1/2 hrs. figuring by mile markers that we were going in excess of 145mph. The speedo had a peg that wouldn't let the needle go below 0, and the needle was wrapped around and up against the peg on the other side...

But then the engine blew a head gasket on the return trip leaving us stranded in Grants, NM, in the middle of Jan. freezing our asses off

I'm watching CNN live and Fox News, Hurricane Rita poured too much water and wind over South New Orleans and Texas. I hope the local governments have evacuated people there and may Lord J.C give them hope and protection.

Luckily the wind is weakening towards mainland. U know Stefan, I think what you said earlier is true about global warming & wicked weather system.

ye well you can expect that the world will have a serious problem with weather change and more "trouble" is yet to come unless we change the way we get around and run cars that run on compressed air which i know are going on sale nxt yr in europ, retailing for $15.000euro's

Default Another old guy

I'm 49 started into RC 2 years ago when in China, my company would not allow us to drive real cars so bought a Landmax2. Later wanted to play trucks so got a Savage SS then proceed to spend a lot on Truckzilla upgrade and other hop-ups. Just moved to Calgary and looking to run here.

RC has proved to have the added advantage that it's something I'm able to enjoy with my 10 year old son who has a Twin Force.
