Hi,
I race on a very tight high grip track. I have recently been playing with a spool on one of my non hobao cars. It was pretty good as I simply had to point the car out of a corner and floor it.
For the GPX4, What I did (and this might be cheating) is I screwed the grub screw on the front diff all the way in. It effectively locks the front diff. I ran a whole race the other week like this and it was fantastic. the grub screw is the one which you use to take the diff cups out.
I went to a larger track last weekend and had to revert to a front one way. but for the tight little track I strongly suggest using a locked diff.

Hi,
There is a guy at my local track who has just bought a GPX-4 to run in Pullstart class (Sport) and he said you can lock the front diff doing as you have described but I have not tried it yet as I am still playing with the oneway.

Here's my latest paint job for our upcoming local series. This will be my first time running a Lola body. The car still runs great just finished rebuilding everything. Looking forward to trying the "solid fix" for our local track.

Yo,
How everyone going with their cars found any good setups yet as this thread seems to have gone quiet.

Wassup T Jr,
There's finally a pulse on this page! Thank goodness. Since I upgraded my sedan from a MTX-3 to a GPX4 two months ago, I have been checking out this post for ideas and how-to'. Until lately, I pretty much read and listen. But recently, things have been eerily silent!? I've enjoyed putting the GPX4 Pro kit together for it's almost identical to my MTX-3. Because of the lack of available parts due to its discontinuation, I wanted a car similar to my MTX-3. Price was not really the issue in deciding my choice to buy the GPX4 over the MTX-4, but rather wanting something other then what every other Joe already has. Seeing someone like Jeff Lin racing against the likes of Mugen, Kyosho, Serpent, Team Magic, Etc., and winning his share of big races with the only OFNA represented, I must say that I am impressed.
I'm always rooting for and supporting the underdog. I have a great feeling this car will be money for me this season. The quality of the parts are A1 and the set up on this car is almost exact to my old MTX-3. If you saw my last posting, the only thing I want to acquire are titanium pillow balls.
The manual does list it as an upgrade, but I haven't been able to find them listed at Nitrohouse, RC Mart, E-Bay, or any source that sells Hobao/OFNA parts. I don't have my manual handy at this moment, but on my next post, I will note the stock# that was listed in the manual.
Til then, Cheerio.

Hey Shocker,
If you can find some tit. pivot balls for a Kyosho RRR that is an alternative. Is there a problem with the ones that came with the kit? Why are you changing them out. I actually was thinking of doing the same thing but I ended up polishing the ones that came with the pro kit.
