Default Just need a car.....

to basically mess around with. I dont think ill be getting into the racing scene for a long time. I just want a good car to drive around parking lots and up anddown teh street. I want it to have a decent speed and plan to tinker with it a bit too. I dont want the cheap radioshack or toysrus stuff so thats why i was wonderin which is good.

I have both a tc3...and an hpi...(SS and a RTR evo 3).....

I'd rather have the HPI......Why?.....one,the HPI is stronger, with gear diffs....the tc3 has ball diffs....a PIA headache for people who like to hack around...second,HPI makes their own bodies....that are pre dimpled for easy fits...including a few new ones that are even pre painted.....

and,I think,on a low traction surface...the HPI handles better.......

im also looking at getting an hpi. would you suggest getting the 18SS or the evo 3? and is the only difference between the two is the 18ss has a better engine?

Please and Thank You!

i have pretty much the same want as Dark, except i will be racing freinds. i want a fast car that also has good handling. and my budget is between 600$-800* (US). (i would rather stay within 700$ but i am willing to spend that money for a good car!)

if you are looking for an onroad car to bash around with, try the ofna LD3. you need to have a shaft driven car because belts will just break on belt driven cars when run on parking lots. the ntc3 is also shaft but the problem is the diff. it is equipped with ball diffs which requires a lot more maintenance than gear diffs (which the LD3 is equipped with). and then, later down the road if you were to decide to race it, the LD3 is capable also and can be race tuned.

ok i am pritty shure im going with hpi, (almost postitve) but what car to go with? i am willing to do a kit like the 18SS as long as it is a good car!

Is the Nitro RS4 3 Evo just a hop-up version or the Nitro RS4 3?

All 3 are the same basic car with different options. You get more for your money if you buy the kit with the hop ups already in it rather then get the base model and upgrade later.

The (RTR) Nitro RS4 3 Evo is 314$. the (RTR) Nitro RS4 3 is 289.99$ (older version of the Evo, not as hoped up). The Nitro RS4 3 18SS is a kit (you need radio equipment and you have to build). these prices are from www.towerhobbies.com.
