***XRAY RX8 2014***

I BELIEVE THIS IS BIG BUSINESS STICKING THERE NOSE IN THE RC CAR MARKET.I LOVE RC CARS.BUT COME ON EVERY YEAR THEY DROP A NEW 700.00 CAR.NOT EVEN REAL RACING DOES THAT.AM I A SHEEP ? HOW SELF CONSCIOUS DOES X RAY BELIEVE IT'S CUSTOMERS ARE. IF YOU KEEP PAYING FOR IT THEY WILL CONTINUE TO SELL IT AND THE PRICES WILL CONTINUE TO GO UP.WAKE UP BEFORE YOUR HOMELESS OVER A RC CAR OR WORKING FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE BECAUSE OF COMPANIES LIKE THIS IN YOUR LIFE.NOT EVERYBODY ON THE FORM REALLY DRIVES RC CARS SOME OF THEM ARE MARKETING PRODUCTS
Xray positions themselves so that as they are making product advancements they come out with a new kit that has all of the updated items on it. Then they usually end up coming out with an upgrade kit so that those who have made the investment on an older model can pay to get the latest and greatest in parts if desired. I don't really see anything wrong with that.
BTW nice 1/8 Truggy, 1/8 Buggy, and 2wd buggy!

Tend to agree that it's more hype than anything else. There is only so much one can change to the car. Will stock up on 2013 spares for now.
With so much supposed all new parts, it begs the question how did they get the prior incarnation of the RX8 so wrong that nothing could be carried over.... And how could they in their conscience sell the product believing that it needed so much improvement....
But as said, business is business, and if they can't encourage people to keep upgrading, the RC population is not a massively expanding one, and hence no RC business will be able to survive for long. Marketing at its best and we can't fault them for trying to earn a living. We all need to. As a smart consumer, its up to us to determine if the changes are worth our hard earned coin. No one forcing us to buy their products...
The only car in recent history that I can recall as ever having been revolutionary was the serpent Veteq (and that was truly new in a bad way sadly).

Stupid question, can the throttle servo on the RX8 be mounted the normal way? It bugs me that all the photos show it mounted the opposite way.

I have just built the RX8 2013, the servo must be mounted that way. "the 2014 looks identical to the set up on the 2013"
2013 RX8, Love it ! may in the future look towards this car, but i will most probs wait for user feed back

I will cinfirm but I think drive trane is the same. Guy had the car on the track an hour ago. Says the corner speed is crazy!!! Also the new pitch is producing better bottom. So what xray have said in the design is what is happening on the track.

Yes betls and pulleys the same. Tyre wear 6mm in 5 runs - 25 to 30 min. Pretty good for the track.
