Anyone use sidewinder 30% with a Mugen X12?

Hey guys

Just wondering if any of you guys use sidewinder 30% fuel with your Mugen X12 or any other engine. Were you guys happy with the performance? Did you guys have to shim your engine?

Thanks

What temp plug are you using?

Depending if your motor was already shimed for 20% you should just add a .02mm shim. But if the person you brought it from didn't touch the shim's its fine where it is.

No need to shim the X-12 when usng 30% as long as you use the right plug.

This would be better placed in the nitro motor forum...
but yeah, the X12 will love 30%. No shim needed.

Anyone have experience using sidewinder fuels?

I just went through a quart of 30% and dont like it.. I was using odonnell 20% .. the smell is nasty...... and the power increase was not very significant.. another thing I dont like about it is all the additives they put in it..
anti foaming agents,
detergants,
igniters,
and a few other things I cant think of right now..

Hmmmm, that's weird. A lot of the racers I've talked to, love sidewinder fuel. Besides the bad smell, did it ruin your enigne in any way?

no problems with the engine but no significant increase in power over odonnel 20% either.. I'm going to try odonnel 30% next and then I could give a better opinion of sidewinder..

I've run it in .12's and .21's (30 & 40%) over the last few years. It's very good fuel. Runs good, tunes well, and stays consistent from bottle to bottle.
