You need play in the 2 speed shaft not a lot but 1-2 mm will suffice.
Anyone notice the engine mount screws on the 748 allowing adjustment???

Gear box being inconsistent is an interesting one we found changing the springs every few race meets helped but they are too stiff for the amount of weight in the 2 speed shoes. we went with softer spring and bingo!!! the most consistent gear change we have ever had. even when the engine is slightly rich the her box changes in the same place.

Which springs did you goto? I'm thinking soft front suspension springs from the 1/12th car?

I've found that compressing the stock springs fully a few times prior to installing them helps keep the shifting consistent. Of course smooth shoes without burrs or rough edges coupled with a bit of layshaft play all help to keep the gearbox shifting nicely. Oh and I've seen many people over lubricate the one way bearing causing oil to leak into the 2nd gear housing as well.

Too bad... I wander what else could fit? That said I don't have any issue with the stock springs

Anyone heard any more about possible ship dates? Now I've seen that they are shipping the new ERYX 3.0 and the Cobra 2.1 this coming week as well as the planned SRX-2SCT short course I'm wandering if Serpent has the capacity to release the 748 next month as well!

Serpent just posted on their Facebook page to expect the car to ship from them beginning June so by the time it's been through local distributors etc it'll be end of June before we get our hands on them.
