The loose shock top issue is because we've gone to the black soft membranes in the SS shocks. If you were to use the older firm clear membranes which are thicker than the soft blacks it allows the top hat and cap nut to screw down tight and the body doesn't rotate when adjusting ride height. I've found that just holding the top nut when adjusting is enough to prevent the shock from undoing. It's the same in new spare SS shock kits and my ERYX 3.0.

Why not use the old clear membrane instead,it more reliable.

Good thing about the 748 is I will have 3 sets of shocks instead of one since the 748 uses the same sa rcm shocks! Hooray ( do people still say hooray? Hehe) for that!

In the worlds I'm pretty sure its gona be hectic and adjusting stuff will be frantic! I will stick with the old membranes, too dangerous to use the new unless you superglue the top nut to the body?! Hmmm that's an idea.... But I need same membranes for all 3 sets of shocks. So I guess il go with the old membranes hehe

A standard size in throttle position will not work ;it will hit the fuel tank. One of my low profile servos is out for repair.

There goes another 100dollars for me! What's the highest torque samnwa servo small size that has a .1second speed? Oh man this is a bummer having to buy another servo

The old clear membrane is too hard and makes it difficult to get low rebound in the shocks. The newer soft black membrane makes for a better shock if you don't like to run much rebound. If you want the old membranes you'll need to buy them extra. The newer spare SS shock kits now come with the soft membranes.

It won't be hectic at the worlds. There will be at least an hour and a half between runs.

I have run them in the past on lipo without issue. Strictly they are supposed to be 6v and I now run my BLS V2's on a 6.6v life and the servos are plenty fast enough. I have ERS-971's in my 747 and SRG-BLS V2's in my new 748 Natrix.

building tips:
1. Install front sway bar before the bulk head.
2. Pillow ball(for front sway bar) height:manual says 27mm but make it one more turn counterclockwise. Or the pivot balls will be tight.
3. Make sure to put 10mm screws(for shock mount) on FLw arms before putting them on chassis. It will make your life easier.
4. Connect throttle servo turnbuckle to pivot arms on top deck before putting the pivot arms in place.
5. Connect the steering servo turnbuckle to servo savor before putting the top deck on.
6. The shock rotation problem will continue. You need to grab the shock body when you turn the ride height knob. Or you will loosen up the cap. Try to use non serrated plier to save the threads on the body. Grabbing the top cap was not enough for me and felt insecure.
7. As mentioned above, you need 1 low profile servo for throttle. Steering servo can be whatever.
8. Do not mount the servo-receiver compartment on the upper deck yet until you install the futaba connector for the battery in the receiver.
9. If you are going to use transponder, make another wire for it. Then you can mount the compartment on the deck.
10. You can't use any other servo arms than the stock ones yet for this car unless there is pretty short one. The stock throttle servo arm is curvy and short. The stock steering servo arm is short. The steering one is very tight fit to the tank. If it's 1mm longer, then it will hit the tank unless you raise the tank or you're willing to do some modification.
Have fun. I hope you lessen your time on building with these tips.

Got my kit now too that I'll build this weekend. Had a quick look and found no 748 decals just generic Serpent ones no manual either but no worries as I've downloaded it already.
