Sorry don't agree that Xray can afford to do that. The latest Mugen and Serpents are a lot more aggressive and if the Worlds had been held any where else in the World in a lower grip situation I am not sure the results would have been the same for Xray. Take nothing away from Alex's great driving and an excellent result for Xray, this is just my thoughts.

Just heard that Serpent will be coming out with several new models next year, so Xray will indeed have to make a move to stay ahead.

Pictures! The kits is a combination of the NT1 & a second box for all the extra option parts.

hi guys,
i've just seen the WC Xray NT1 2014 and i have a question, its an upgrade from 2012 car? o an upgrade from 2013 car? i really ask this because the 2013 car need different parts from the 2012, so this 2014 new car use same parts from 2013? o same parts from 2012?

thanks

Alex:

It's more of an update to the 2012 as they went back to full size shocks.

Alex:

No worries, Xray did however change the design of the shocks which i think are better on the 2014 model.

The chassis, battery tray and front mid shaft mount and shaft also changes, but these are more cosmetic changes and do not give a performance increase.

If you have a 2012 already, buy the new shocks and reverse clutch and keep using what you have

Thanks
Andrew

Yes new WC is a standard 2014 kit plus an additional box with the option parts in it.

Going on past years Xray has released a new NT1 about April/May roughly. We won't know what they have planned for the 2015 version until then.

Alex: Sorry forgot the 2014 has smaller shoe two speed as well then previous models. GIMAR have had this available as an option part for sometime.

I might get verbally bitch slapped, but does the 2014 car turn better than the 2013? I joined the team not long after Ralph Burch won the worlds in Texas. I bought the WC car and did make upgrades along the way. Finally bought a new car for 2013. I constantly struggle to get the car to turn. What I finally did was to use a body that turned so much better that I could not really drive the WC with this body. It is now my go to for the 2013 car but the body is discontinued. I am not opposed to going with a new car but I am seriously considering going back to my WC car (I never sold it or any of my parts). I can't see the larger shocks making the car turn that much better but I am also thinking of at least trying the older shocks and towers on my 2013 car.

No, I do not sauce my tires.

Scott:

I can't give you a definite answer as never ran 2013 with low profile shocks. For me this setup benefits high grip smooth surfaces something my track isn't.

I think the Xray struggles for aggressive steering especially when you see what new Mugen and Serpents are doing and this is something i hope Xray look at with new model.

Scott we have raced together numerous times, my 13 was an excellent car across the board. Stabile, good turning, etc. Perhaps the set up you are using isnt good for the newer platform. I remember when I put my 12 up and started fresh with the 13 and alot of my set up had to change for the newer car. I also went from the Spark/Kruzer on mt 12 to the P37 on my 13 the car responded very well for me wth that body. I spoke with Drew @ GLC and he helped my make a final decision on set up and when I tryed the latest set up my car is Amazing! I could share the info if you would like just shoot me a PM I will get you the set up!

Hey Drew:

My real "problem" is this: I run Protoform bodies exclusively. MY experience had found the P37 to be very stable (less steering). The SRS turned a bit too much for me and I always found that body to be inconsistant. Seems like it was just unpredictable. The P56 had the most steering to the point of being too hard for me to drive, but it was very consistant every lap.

I ran the P37 on my older car. When I got the 2013 I couldn't get the car to turn well enough or even close when running that body. I tried the latest offering the VRS and it had a touch more steering than the P37 but still not close to enough. The SRS was good but I still found it to be unpredictable. The P56 is really good on the car but its discontinued. I have just been using up the few remaining bodies I have. I bet if I looked I could find more of them out there but ultimately that is not the answer. I need to run current production Protoform bodies anyway.

Really what I should do is for the next race I should start with a "Normal" setup and not bring the P56 body so i don't have that crutch to lean on. That being said, I will certainly take a look and give your setup a try as I am a bit lost with this car.

All that whining I am doing I still feel that I am as competitive as I was before but I think that I am working a lot harder to get to this spot. I also feel like if I can make the car do what I want with a P37 or the VRS I can actually end up faster as those bodies are easier to drive and I can be more consistant as well.

Look forward to racing with you again.....
