Although I don't own the x3 yet I am planning on buying it in March and running it this season without question. I can speak for the serpent as it was the car I owned the last 2 seasons. I did own an ofna dm1 b4 that. The fact that my serpent had over 150$ in hop ups to be the car that handled the way I wanted and everyone buys the same hop ups on top of a $575 price tag is ridicules in my book. The car needs the brake upgrade for $50 to stop. Then they melt the 2speed holder so the aluminum one is another $50. I had the cheaper poly 10* c-hubs (can buy $80 aluminum ones) followed by the $50 zero degree steering arms. It's an over $700 car b4 a body tires electronics and a power train. This all being said I was replacing the drive pins in the driveshafts almost weekly. The outdrives are very soft and notch easy. The outdrives for the serpent are twice the price of the igt8. IMO the serpent is a great handling car if your sponsored or have deep pockets. The car wears very fast and parts are expensive. The $400 igt8 x3 plus $15 for the serpent 10* c hubs and the cars is ready to run door to door with the serpent. I was an ofn fan when I had my dm-1. The car was durable. Parts were inexpensive. The car handled great and I even think do to its pivot ball suspension it the most tunable car out there. But it's heavy!!!!!! I'd got ofna all day!!!!!

Another example. 4 serpent aluminum clutch shoes $25.99
4 igt8 aluminum clutch shoes with 3 sets of springs $14.99

Selling off new in package parts for the DM-1. All the two speed parts, spurs and pinions are the same for the X3.

Default Winter Nationals

This race is an interesting comparison between the Serpent, X3 (or IGT8) and the new Mugen MGT8. Cars qualified in that order, and looking to see how the race finishes. Need to give credit to Rino, working to get the car running and working at major events.

Question, I need to replace the RTR force.28 motor and wondering if I need to replace the motor mounts?

Also, during inspection of my clutch, I notice some wear which I am wondering if its an issue

Not sure what was hitting the flywheel, but make sure you have washers under the clutch shoes and I always run a shim on top of the clutch nut and under the 5x10 bearing. Also, you should run 3 or 4 small bearings in the clutch bell.

On the .21 engines, I like 1 carbon and two aluminum shoes. PM me and I'll give you part numbers and set up help.

I do like the lower optional engine mount. Not much chance of the engine moving with them. Just make sure to use thread lock on bolts.

Anyone know if the X3 is discontinued? It seems to be out of stock everywhere.

No idea what could be causing rubbing, I never messed with it from the factory. Only thing I have done was the bearing mod in the clutch bell to run 3 bearings.

I'm considering upgrading to the Buku clutch.

I really want this car. I may order it. I wanted to ask though, is it difficult to get parts for this car? Everywhere I see parts are either out of stock or backordered. How does this compare to the Kyosho GT2 because I was interested in that too. Thanks!!

It's the beginning of Nitro season for most of us not living in Florida, California and Texas. This is always back order season. IGT8.com is the way to go for your X3 needs.

Order the IGT8 car which is the X3 with the parts already changed, you will spend less in the long run. I started with the X3 when it came out and have done all but the roll bar and carbon fiber parts. This car weighs less, smoother driveline and faster than the Kyosho.

I would agree with IGTHobbies for parts, Chad and Shawn have both run the OFNA cars, so have the parts and will get you set up.

PM me if you want a good starting point on set up.
