I've wanted an 1/8 scale touring car for a while now, but not sure which one to get. I need one that's easy to work on and get parts for. would the X3 be a good choice to start with?

Does anyone have a decent set up

It all really depends on how you drive and what you have on your car. Just because it works for one person doesn't mean it works for everyone. I can tell you on my car I have many of the option parts, but here's a good starting point....
- 1k oil in the shocks
- 50k in the front diff
- 30k in the rear diff
- For a tight track, get the off road ring and pinion gear to get more bottom end out of the car. Drop down to a 15/19 on the clutch bell and you'll be ok.
- upgrade the brake with the option one
Again, it depends on how you drive. I switched to 2k oil in my front shocks with silver springs all the way around. Using a 14/19 clutch bell with 49/44 on the spurs. I changed out the front brake with the steel one and added a rear one to make it stop on a dime.
Play with the car and you'll see what you'll want to change.
