Yes, most chassis are very similar to one another in some regard. Yet the SPM chassis is made in France and its actually a former racer that started SPM. And what ironic is that Motonicas leading 2wd classic guy Romain D. has just switched to SPM.

Default MOTONICA RULES!!

Motonica P8Cs and 3-port motors take top two places at round 2 of The Midwest Series, in Portage In. 1st: Erik Bieberstein, 2nd: Lon Burling, and saving the day for WRC was Gary Anderson in 3rd. A fun time was had by all.

Default Moving

Moving my Grandson, Noah Bellvllie (he's getting fast), out of his WRC and into my Motonica Extreme II for a race or two. Should be interesting.

Default Round 3

Motonica wins again. Motonica powered by rex motors won first followed by two wrc cars. First place Noah Bellville second place Joe Tuttle and third place Jeff Whiting. The race was cut short due to rain so the scoring went off the qualfyling

Default Whiting's

The Pan class is a blast and very close racing. Its perfect for me since I have a "few" cars to manage at the track.

The new REX Legend 5 GTI seems to be perfect in the pan cars. It has really worked our well. All three GTI's installed in cars made the top 5 placing 1st, 3rd and 5th this past weekend.

Go here if you are interested in a Legend 5 and use promo code GTI at checkout. www.LEFComplex.com

Well come to find out, the cars designer previously did design work for Motonica.

EDIT - it shares many of the same components, such as front end parts, and hardware.

Would the 2 wheel drive Motonica take off in the West Coast?

I could not say, a few years ago when Garen Hagobian was importing Motonicas, I would have said a solid - yes. Having moved from the West Coast in 2000, I do not know how strong the regular 1/8 4WD cars are doing these days.

It would take quite the investment in time to get the class going strong, if it were to run similar to the F1 R/C Scene there - that would be a great example to build an actual series upon.

Also consider that not much new in a way of product or information has come out of Motonica maybe now a solid 3-4 years. You may be able to get with Irwin RC and see how many of the WRC cars have went to the west coast and see perhaps how strong or weak the possibilities may be.

Either way not to discourage you - get a 2wd pan and run along side the 1:8 4wd cars during practice and the like, I am sure many of them would not mind, and would lend a hand.

I have long believed the 2wd 1/8 Pan Class would be great in Claifornia, particularly with the number of legendary Pan Car racers still active in SoCal, including Dana Smeltzer and Bill Jianis. I had a chance to show the WRC GT Due to both of them at the on road Nats last time I was racing in LA. They seemed excited and both showed interest in racing 2WD with us at last years GLC. If I had more time in LA I would help lead the charge to get the class up and running. Too bad I'm on the opposite coast.

If there are any of you SoCal racers interested in getting the 1/8 2wd class up and running I would be happy to work with you and help out anyway way I can. Feel free to contact me through pm or by email at our website:
